Hidden Cat Outlaws is a 2025 hidden object puzzle game developed and released by Sleepwalking Potatoes.

The Premise Hidden Cat Outlaws

In Hidden Cat Outlaws, we have to find cats and some objects, fight cat outlaws, and excavate an ancient treasure—all in a day’s work.

Gameplay

In Hidden Cat Outlaws, we have 15 levels to explore. Each level is a Wild West area populated with people, animals, and secrets. At each level, we had to find a variety of cats and three special items. We have a countdown for the cats in the upper corner of the screen and a silhouette for the objects. They can be anything from a chest, a boot, a scroll, a hammer, and so on. The cats and the objects are evident on the scene- they are not hidden inside bushes or buildings, like in other hidden cat games. Still, it’s not too easy to find the cats, you’ll need to zoom in and out of the picture since some of the cats are very similar in color to the background.

Some of the cats are in mini-scenes, locked behind padlocks. To unlock a mini-scene, you must find the key somewhere around.

Also, in each scene, we have one “cat outlaw” mini-game – where we need to “shoot” at targets until the cat is defeated. Each outlaw drops a treasure map that indicates the location of a buried treasure somewhere on the big scene. Once we realize what the site of the map looks like, we can easily stumble upon the treasure even before defeating the cat outlaw.

Finally, there is one “boss” mini-game per scene, which consists of clicking on a succession of highlighted targets until the boss is beaten; when this happens, a map indicates the location of a buried hidden treasure. The game suggests that when all cats, secrets, and buried treasures have been found, scenes can be revisited from the menu later to complete them.

In the upper part of the screen, we have a hint button that recharges very quickly. It points only to cats.

Hidden Cat Outlaws features a doodle-style hand-drawn art style, dozens of funny “mouth-made” sounds, and a great soundtrack. Controls are minimal – moving around the map zooming in and out with the mouse, and clicking on cats.

Some Other Things

Hidden Cat Outlaws has Steam achievements but no trading cards yet. The game also has a demo available to try.

Conclusion

Hidden Cat Outlaws is a nice addition to the hidden cats genre. It doesn’t bring anything new to the table, but still, it’s engaging enough to kill some time finding cats.

Final Verdict: I Like it a Lot. I like it a lot
