There is something restorative about LEGO games. You’ve got the action-adventure types, like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which I personally find very cathartic, especially with my motto of ‘Bash Everything’, and then the therapeutic building journeys, like LEGO Bricktales or indeed LEGO Builder’s Journey.
This week, the LEGO Group celebrate the milestone 20th anniversary of the LEGO Batman theme. So it’s no coincidence that on 18th September, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight swoops onto the Nintendo Switch 2, alongside the cross-platform launch of the Mayhem Collection DLC.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
Set in iconic locations across Gotham City, the game allows you to travel around in various Batmobiles and other vehicles, confronting classic enemies such as the Joker, the Penguin, and Bane. While playing as the Dark Knight over the course of this action-adventure, you’ll also forge alliances with and play as the likes of Jim Gordon, Catwoman and, of course, Robin, using their special skills and unique gadgets. In addition to customising the Batcave, you’ll be able to unlock and wear one of 100 distinct suits from the 86-year history of Batman. Choose the look that defines your favourite era of this classic hero.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version is available in Standard and Deluxe editions. The Deluxe Edition contains the base game, the Legacy Collection (three themed packs), and the Mayhem Collection DLC, which includes the Sinister Pack, an additional story mission, and new playable characters.
