Noxfall Studios has confirmed that Nordic Ashes: Twilight of Yggdrasil will launch on Steam on 23 May 2026, with console versions planned for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox later in summer 2026.
The DLC will add three new realms, a new character, and numerous new mechanics. It also features a global challenge, in which players must team up to earn points by defeating Fenrir, the final boss, to unlock secret content.
DLC Twilight of Yggdrasil
The events of Nordic Ashes: Twilight of Yggdrasil take place after the conquest of the nine realms of Norse mythology.
You will explore Groundheim, Krystalheim, and Sandheim, challenge new enemies, bosses, and defeat the terror of the gods: Fenrir, son of Loki and slayer of Odin during Ragnarok.
This DLC includes:
- Three new realms with tons of enemies, mechanics, and bosses.
- Gnöki as a new playable character + multiple skins.
- Themed skins for Axeldör, Thyra, and M.I.S.S.I.N.G.
- New relics to create devastating synergies and builds.
- Global challenge to uncover a secret. Earn points by defeating Fenrir to discover it.
- Original soundtrack by Rubén Melià.
Free Content for the Base Game
There will also be extra content available to all players:
- Hyper-Lightning Mode: If you choose to play this mode, the overall speed of the game and your character will increase considerably, making runs much faster, more frantic, and more fun.
- Relic Ban: As the number of relics continues to grow, we felt it was essential to have a new tool to ban those you don’t want to appear in a game.
- New relics.
- A new Yggdrasil branch that adds new levels of metaprogress.
- Significant performance improvements.
Early Access Impressions
James checked out Nordic Ashes when it landed in Early Access, and felt that even at that early stage of development,Nordic Ashes was showing a lot of promise.
