Pipe push paradise is a puzzle game where you push pipes to solve the puzzle. Released by Digerati for the Nintendo Switch and just recently on the PS4 and Xbox One.
A short storyline
Our story starts with a young girl on an a paradise island who’s Uncle, the islands only plumber is asleep and can’t be awakened, the residents of the island are without water so this is where plumbers niece comes in to help.
That’s about it for a storyline…. what you could call short and sweet.
The premise of pipe push paradise is to connect the water pipes to keep the water flowing and restore paradise to the island and I imagine keep everyone on the island happy as well.

47 puzzles to connect
There are 47 puzzles in all. Each puzzle is individually sectioned off with a hedge around the outside of the puzzle and there is an overall general direction to follow with paths that fork off in different direction and lead to other pipe puzzles to solve. When you start a puzzle the pipe pieces are laid out but of course not laid out in a way to complete the puzzle, that’s your job. You move the pipes by running into them, and depending on where you run into them you can rotate them horizontally and vertically. This takes a wee bit of getting used to.
Running into a pipe by either end of it, will move it across the ground, like a sliding block puzzle. But pushing a pipe on its side could rotate it upwards, creating a third axis for you to keep track of.
It’s not just a case of having straight pipes to move around they come in a few different shapes as well. Some puzzles require you to build an arch or place the pipes around other objects in the environment.

You can leave the puzzle you are working on at any time or use the handy reset button that rewinds the last move or resets the pipes back to where they where when you first started the puzzle. I like having the option to be able to reset the last move as it cuts down on frustration after having moved a pipe the wrong way for the fifteenth time. This also give you the option to go and try to solve another puzzle and come back to the one that has you really puzzled
A good thing we have a reset button!

There are a few NPC’s standing around in various places who will talk to you but they don’t really add anything to the story. Music wise the puzzles are solved with a soundtrack of relaxing Bossa nova guitar playing while pipe pushing.
If you take a look at the developers web site for Push Pipe Paradise there is one word that stands out…..difficult. Yep this game is difficult, no doubt about that.
It eases you in with the first level or so, however as you progress to the later puzzles….  Well, let’s just say you won’t be finishing them in a hurry. In my opinion that is a good thing, it’s a challenge and also prolongs the game play by going back to complete that one or many pipe puzzles that gives you trouble.

Conclusion
Pipe Push Paradise is a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch that allows you to snatch a few minutes playing time here and there when you can.
It’s bright and colourful and the graphics reminded this reviewer of a kids story book. However the puzzles are not child’s play as it’s full of devious Pipe Pushing Puzzle fun.
If you like pipes and a challenge then this game could be just what you are looking for and you might find that just like me you will like this game to.
I like Pipe Push Paradise.
