Upcoming Steam Games February 2023

Welcome! At LadiesGamers, we are all about indie games. So, aside from our Upcoming Switch Games, it’s time to look at Steam’s upcoming new release games. This one is for February 2023.

Not all games to be released are on the list here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking notice of these games. You can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Steam website.

Toaplan Arcade Shoot-em-up Collection Vol 1 – February 14th

Toaplan Arcade Shoot-em-up Collection Vol 1 LadiesGamers

Toaplan Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up Collection Vol.1 consists of a well-curated selection of classic shmups; Zero Wing, Out Zone, Twin Cobra, and Truxton, all enhanced with Quality of Life features, Achievements, Online Leaderboards, and much more.

James reviewed Toaplan Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up Collection Vol.1 and said this in his conclusion.

Toaplan Arcade Shoot Em’Up Collection Volume 1 is fine retro goodness to enjoy on the PC. If you’re a fan of retro gaming and your shooters, then this is well worth picking up. Four games feels a touch light since Toaplan has many more arcade titles in their backlog, but I guess they are saving that for Volume 2. Now that I finally dipped my toes in the Toaplan collection, I can safely say it was time well spent. For a quick arcade fix to play alone or with a friend, you can’t go wrong with this shooty-bang banger.

Serena reviewed A Weekend in Puzzleburg and had this to say in her conclusion.

While A Weekend in Puzzleburg is a short game, it is wholesome and very cozy. It may not blow your socks off. But is a good game to kill time with over a weekend. It is a different kind of RPG, one without any combat or challenging puzzles. It will appeal to anyone who is looking for a relaxing cozy time.

Joon Shining – February 17th

LadiesGamers Joon Shining

Joon Shining is a golf-like platformer with a fantasy twist. Combining traditional golf & mini-golf with elements of puzzle platforming, it evolves the hit-and-wait formula of golf by adding magic.

You play as Joon, a young wizard travelling across the multiverse. As you advance through 8 unique worlds, learn to master your arcane powers to solve weird & mind-bending challenges. Harness your abilities to manipulate physics. Solve puzzles. Discover collectables. And learn the secret of the Mage Drops.

James reviewed Joon Shining and had this to say in his conclusion.

Joon Shining is a pretty good puzzle game by design, but I found it stressful. I couldn’t get my ball to flow as well as it looks in the game’s trailer. Furthermore, I understood the challenge and the design the developers were going for, but it just failed to click with me. I loved the soundtrack and meditative look of the game, but that’s not how I felt playing it.

Joon Shining is unlike any golf game I have played, and I can see this being something players will enjoy if they’re looking for a different take on the genre and are up for the challenge it presents. I highly recommend downloading the free demo and giving it a go. If it clicks, show a budding indie developer some support. If you give Joon Shining a chance, it may shine a light on your gaming night.
