Embark on a heartwarming journey filled with joy and productivity alongside the adorable creatures of Weyrdlets. These virtual pets are more than just companions; they bring a new level of happiness to your day as you interact, decorate, and nurture them.
Take Care of Your Very Own Virtual Pet
Hands up, who had a Tamagotchi or similar virtual pet as a child? *hand up as high as I can put it* I fondly remember going to school and giving my mum strict instructions to feed my beloved pet and also make sure they’re played with, and most of all? Not kill them!
There has always been something that draws me to virtual pets – whether that be in the form of self-care pets or pets in the form of Weyrdlets.
Weyrdlets is a virtual desktop pet that you might have never heard of, but once you engage with it, you’ll fall in love with these cheeky digital pets with every interaction.

Just Chillin’ On Your Desktop
Bring your beloved pet to your desktop and have them keep you company while you work, browse the internet, or check your email. They may even bring you little trinkets or toys to make your day brighter whilst fishing in their cute little boat. If you find yourself getting too distracted by their cuteness, don’t worry – Weyrdlets has a solution for that, along with other productivity challenges you may face. Weyrdlets includes a timer and other helpful tools like a customisable to-do list. Take care of yourself and your furry friend while staying focused and productive with Weyrdlets by your side.
Weyrdlets‘ chill vibes are so infectious that you won’t be able to resist slowing down and immersing yourself in your very own island pet paradise. But fear not—even if you’re pressed for time to play the game, you can still take care of your adorably quirky pet on the side as they frolic around your desktop. These virtual pets have a mind of their own, exploring every nook and cranny of your screen and finding joy in the most unexpected things while you tackle your daily tasks.

Less Demanding Than a Tamagotchi
Whether you’re diving into the game or simply chilling with your digital companions on your desktop, taking care of them is key. These lovable creatures need to be fed, cleaned, exercised, and entertained regularly. The best part? Unlike real pets, you can enjoy a worry-free weekend knowing your Weyrdlets will be perfectly happy and healthy when you return to your PC.
Weyrdlets offers a shop where you can buy all of the items your pets need, including food and toys. I am particularly fond of the hula hoop, and my Weyrdlet looked so cute while I was playing with it. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of owning a Tamagotchi, you’ll be thrilled to discover that Weyrdlets are much less demanding.

A Reminder to Take some Time to Play
Don’t forget about the awesome playground for your Weyrdlet to let loose and have a blast! Plus, there’s a super fun mini-game that’s inspired by the classic Super Monkey Ball – talk about a good time! Remember, productivity is important, but so is having fun! Let your Weyrdlet play and enjoy every moment at the same time. Happiness and fun are just as crucial as being productive!
Weyrdlets also has a cute feature where you can send messages in a bottle to other random Weyrdlets users, which is a nice, friendly touch.

Make Your Space Your Own
You can also decorate your home with various wallpapers, floors, and furniture. I love the designing aspect of games and making my virtual space my own. New wall colours, etc., can be purchased with coins.
My only criticism is that I would like a broader selection, but this might come with time and more updates, so it’s not a dealbreaker.

Milestones and Stickers For Weyrdlets
One of my favourite things in games is in the form of collections. I love completing collections in the game. Weyrdlets does this in the form of stickers! Stickers can be bought from the general store or earned in-game, and completing certain sets grants rewards like exp.
The game also has a to-do list that rewards coins for completing certain activities, such as feeding your Weyrdlet a certain number of times or playing with them.
A Note About In-Game Currency
In Weyrdlets, coins are the more accessible currency, and they are easily obtained through daily tasks and activities such as fishing. However, jelly stars are a bit more elusive. While you start the game with a modest amount of jelly stars, obtaining more requires purchasing them. The primary way to acquire jelly stars is through real money purchases via the Steam store, but a small amount can also be acquired through daily play. It’s not necessary to purchase jelly stars to enjoy the game, but other Weyrdlets can be purchased with jelly stars so it does offer a bit more variety in that sense.
Conclusion
Weyrdlets is an incredible game that offers players the chance to take care of a virtual pet whilst also helping with productivity and mindfulness. Weyrdlets is a virtual pet that is less demanding than a Tamagotchi whilst offering a unique experience in the genre. I’m looking forward to hanging out with my Weyrdlet after I’ve finished writing this.
You can purchase Weyrdlets on the Steam store here.
