It’s an eclectic mix for the April 2025 eShop Sales! The following selections all scored the LadiesGamers top rating – our golden ‘Two Thumbs Up’.

A Winding Path

A Winding Path Review LadiesGamers

A Winding Path is a hand-drawn adventure game about finding the beauty of the world and enjoying the little things.

Mina wound down with A Winding Path

If there is nothing you can think of that’s wrong with a game except that it’s too short, then that’s probably a really good game. It’s worth the $8 USD, even with the short length. I had a lot of fun playing this short romp through a pencilled-in world, and I think anyone who likes chill meditative titles will also dig A Winding Path as well.

Blanc

Blanc is an artistic cooperative adventure that follows the journey of a wolf cub and a fawn stranded in a vast, snowy wilderness.

I was blown away when I reviewed Blanc:

There isn’t a huge amount of gameplay in Blanc, but what you get is an incredible, emotional journey about friendship. This two-player game transports you to a wintry landscape and immerses you in a heartwarming adventure. The graphics and music work in harmony to create a truly delightful game.

Bunhouse

Be a plant-loving bunny in this cozy gardening sim!

Yvonne had bunny eyes for Bunhouse

When you start with BunHouse, I can imagine someone looking for action and entertainment being disappointed. However, this is just my cup of tea: a management game about a topic that I love. This is the first game I ever played that actually feels as if you’re really gardening. When I have the bunny sell the plants, you see the root system and it fits with the actual way a plant’s root system looks. For example, one of the Forget-me-not is an actual clump, straining for a bigger pot. This tells me that Patrick Gauthier really paid attention to his plant knowledge.

BunHouse is a great management strategy game, that is cute at the same time. It’s coming to the Switch as well which is great news, as it works well in handheld. For how it performs on the Steam Deck, and the game itself, I can only give it one verdict.

Dave The Diver

Dive by day! Serve by night! The best diving, harpooning, action-adventuring, and sushi restaurant managing experience you’ll ever have.

James took the plunge reviewing Dave The Diver

Dave the Diver is a wonderful dip into the ocean. For me, this was the game that kept on giving. With so many options during gameplay, I could not honestly cite a point where I felt bored. Dives were wonderous with plenty to explore and seek, whether it was finding new fish or discovering something sinister in the depths. Running the restaurant was also much more fun than I expected, far from a throw-away mini-game but an in-depth management sim. Either of these two elements of gameplay would make a great game but on top of all that, you have all the little surprises that make this something I could not recommend enough.

Like my best friend Dave, Dave the Diver is fantastic.

FAR: Changing Tides

FAR: Changing Tides LadiesGamers

An atmospheric vehicle adventure that follows the emotional journey of a boy and his ship as he embarks on a voyage to find a new home. Sail stormy waters, dive into unknown depths, and explore forgotten ruins in a beautifully realised, flooded world.

Paula set sail to review FAR: Changing Tides

FAR: Changing Tides is a relaxing, thought-provoking and satisfying trek through a dystopian and atmospheric world. If exploring every nook and cranny is your “thing”, then look no further as you will find it all in FAR: Changing Tides. Now if you’d excuse me, I’m off to buy the first game in the series from the eShop.

Embark on an adorable adventure. Climb, Swim, Glide and slide your way into the hearts of the many different characters you meet on your travels!

Mina snapped up the opportunity to review Lil Gator Game

Lil Gator Game, along with the host of other cozy indie games I’ve played and loved, are unique and special experiences that I’m glad I got to have. It’s so wonderful that finally gamers who don’t like a lot of the elements of AAA games can have a little piece of relaxing wonderful like Lil Gator Game and similar. I am so happy that indie games are much more able to reach audiences because my inner child was absolutely enthralled.

While it’s a shame something so wonderful as this couldn’t have existed 20 years ago, indie developers are certainly making up for it now by releasing amazing, beautiful, wholesome, adorable, and nearly perfect games like this as passion projects. There is a lot of love in Lil Gator Game, and I can’t wait to see what this dev has in store for us next.

Go above and beyond the cosmos!

Paula launched into reviewing My Little Universe

I’ve had a blast with My Little Universe; it is a cosy worldbuilding collect-a-thon. It urges the player to explore further and discover what is on the next hex. My Little Universe is a wholesome, relaxing game for those who want the thrill of exploring and collecting infinite resources. Suitable for all ages in the family, it also has a very addictive gameplay loop and watching Orangey go to work and swing his tools is brilliant; I wish I had his energy!

Paper Trail

Paper Trail LadiesGamers

A puzzle adventure set in a foldable, paper world.

No tears for Anni when she reviewed Paper Trail:

Paper Trail is an absolutely enchanting game that is bursting at the seams with charm and whimsy. While the concept may not be entirely new, the gameplay and delightful characters truly steal the show in Paper Trail. The innovative use of origami to manipulate the environment and unlock hidden pathways is simply genius.

Railbound

Promotional image for Railbound, showing a dog with a conductor's hat on and a train in the background. Published on LadiesGamers

Railbound is a comfy, track-bending puzzle game about a pair of dogs on a train journey around the world.

Paula went all aboard with Railbound

Railbound is just my kind of game, with challenging levels that require some thought, and it’s also relaxing as there isn’t a timer. It has all the right ingredients to make it a brilliant puzzle game with a sweet storyline. First, place the track connections so that carriages safely connect to the locomotive, then sit back and watch the little carriages chug along the track to join the engine and be amazed at your brilliance in solving the puzzle. Mind the gap!

TOEM clicked with Mina:

I love this game. I love TOEM so much. It’s sweet, adorable, funny and full of fun and interesting NPCs to meet and take photos of. The world may be in black and white, but it’s lovingly detailed and wonderfully rendered. The music is wonderful and there are a lot of thoughtful details to make players love it even more. Two thumbs up for TOEM!

Venba

Venba title page. Published on: LadiesGamers

Cook delicious South-Indian food and experience the journey of an immigrant family in Venba!

Baked with love, lead Kalina to give Venba ‘Two Thumbs Up’:

Venba is a great game and has an even more remarkable story. It gives us a brief glimpse at what an immigrant family goes through, the hardships and the joys. Venba also gives us an idea of how difficult it is to find the balance between adapting, fitting in, and still hanging on to your culture. It also touches on the universal idea that our children will not lead the life we do. This game has much humanity in the interactions between Venba and Paavalan, them and Kavin, the family, and the outside world. There are also simple moments of humor and love that feel so real that they could be someone’s memory.

While Venba is short, it is also long enough to do what it sets out to do: tell us a story and make us want to hug our parents.
