Bugtopia is a 2025 simulation idler game developed by Nocturnal Games and released by GCORES PUBLISHING.
The Gameplay of Bugtopia
In Bugtopia, we have a terrarium that we can decorate and fill with bugs we’ve collected. The game features more than 300+ lifelike bugs, all based on real-life insects, to gather and grow. Matching different bugs gives us the option to unlock more species, some of them rare or even extinct. We can then grow the bugs and sell them for coins. All bugs are featured in an encyclopedia, which includes facts about their real-world counterparts and links to Wikipedia.

We begin with a basic terrarium featuring a few bugs, but it’s relatively easy to earn enough coins to start upgrading and decorating the space. There are numerous options for personalizing the space, including over 20 terrarium types, more than 70 water and soil options, and over 300 landscaping items. The terrarium appears alive, featuring 5 time periods and four weather conditions.
As the game progresses, we can actually keep several terrariums, each with their own unique flora and fauna and decorations.
Bugtopia also features the hallmarks of a productivity app, including ambient sounds, desktop wallpaper mode, and a Pomodoro timer. The fact that the plants are also growing is a nice touch, especially if you leave the game in the corner of your screen while working.

Some Other Things
Bugtopia has a demo, that you can try before buying the game. The game progress from the demo doesn’t carry on automatically to the full version of the game, but the developers have a very comprehensive guide how to load up your demo progress in the full game on the Steam page of Bugtopia.
Bugtopia has basic audio and graphics settings, as well as Steam achievements.
Conclusion
Bugtopia is a cute and vibrant game about collecting bugs. The bugs are adorable, the terrariums are diverse, and we have a variety of colors, blooming plants, little buildings, and even some fish; what’s not to like? If you enjoy nature and insects, you’ll love this one. If you don’t like bugs, you should skip it.
