Happy New Year!

From all of us at LadiesGamers, we wish you a joyful and game-filled 2026! Thank you for being here with us and reading what we create. And to our Patrons: your support truly means the world!

With 2025 now behind us, we’re excited to dive into a brand-new year. Expect plenty of reviews, mostly indie titles, with some bigger releases sprinkled in, spotlighting developers and publishers who deserve every bit of attention we can give. There are always so many hidden gems waiting to be shared.

Alongside the reviews, we’ll continue bringing you cozy gaming news and little slices of everyday life, all wrapped up in our shared love for games.

The Team behind LadiesGamers

Let’s begin the year by introducing our team, because none of this would be possible without their dedication and hard work.

In 2025, Anni left LadiesGamers and several new writers joined. As we step into 2026, these are the people who make up our team:

Paula Moore: Paula has been my gaming friend for many, many years, and it was a real milestone in August 2018 when she decided to join the site as a reviewer. Before long, she was helping me run LadiesGamers, and over the past seven years, I can say with certainty that the site wouldn’t be what it is today without her. She’s our steady force, the one who remembers every review we’ve written and every code we’ve requested.

We share the work between us as our site (or “our baby,” as we like to call it) needs daily care and attention. Paula lives in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and when she’s not busy with LadiesGamers, her hairy buddy Zen keeps her occupied, as do her seven grandchildren.

James Luff: James joined us in March 2020. He lives in the UK with Melissa, Flynn, and Keira, and you’ve no doubt come across many of his reviews on LadiesGamers. He often jokes that he’s happy to take on the review codes no one else is eager for, though he certainly has his favourite genres. Once a dedicated Switch player, he’s now fully embraced his SteamDeck, so Steam titles are very much on the menu.

When Paula and I look through upcoming releases, we can always spot a “James game” straight away: 2D or 3D platformers, rogue-lites, and arcade-style titles are guaranteed to catch his eye. And of course, anything featuring otters is an instant yes!

Caroline van de Ven: First and foremost, Caroline has been with us as our graphic designer since the very beginning. She’s created some truly beautiful artwork for the site, including the homepage banners, and she’s even designed exclusive wallpapers for our Tier 3 Patrons. As her day job now revolves around designing professionally, she has less time for artwork in her spare hours. A good thing she’s also an accomplished writer too. She has a particular love for Otome games and has reviewed quite a few of them for LadiesGamers since 2020.

Mina Smith: Mina, who lives in Virginia in the United States, joined our team in June 2021 and quickly became a steady, reliable presence. She’s a full-time writer and editor, crafting fiction both for herself and for a range of clients. She also writes for other gaming publishers, where she mostly covers big AAA titles. Here at LadiesGamers, though, she loves shining a light on lesser-known indie games, and she has a particular soft spot for anything featuring cats. One thing you’ll always notice in her reviews: when she’s excited about a game, that enthusiasm leaps right off the page!

Lynne Newey: Lynne has been part of our team since September 2022 and hails from England. She began gaming back in the 1980s, spending many years playing and coding on an Amstrad CPC and later on PC, before discovering the wonderful world of Nintendo. She loves playing video games with her son, and their reviews are very much a joint effort.

In 2024, she also stepped in to help with editing whenever needed, and she’s become wonderfully adept behind the scenes, tinkering with our enormous Excel sheets that hold all our reviews.

Kalina Mikova: Kalina grew up playing games throughout her school years in Bulgaria, especially during the 90s and early 2000s. She stepped away from gaming around the time The Sims 2 released, only to rediscover her love for it during the pandemic. She joined LadiesGamers in April 2023 and has been writing with real enthusiasm ever since. As much as she’s a gamer at heart, she loves reading and writing about games even more. Kalina is a master of hidden‑animal games and, like Mina, she has a big soft spot for cats.

Margaret David: Margaret, who lives in Pennsylvania in the United States, has been a passionate gamer and writer for us ever since she joined us in February 2024. When you read one of her reviews, you can immediately sense her deep appreciation for the gaming world and the wide range of titles she’s experienced over the years. She has a particular fondness for dungeon crawlers and adventure games. For her, gaming isn’t just a way to unwind after a busy or difficult day; it’s also a way to regain a sense of control. And we couldn’t agree more.

Laurane Reine-Adelaïde: Laurane, from France, joined our team in June 2025 with a deep love for stories at heart, whether found in books or video games, and she brings that passion into her work for us. A proud and deeply rooted introvert, she prefers cozy, handheld gaming. Her gaming journey began with older cousins who first showed her the magic of play, and though she’s been an on‑and‑off gamer over the years, returning to games always feels as natural as the first time.

In real life, she is a librarian and works in the digital team .It’s her job to help anyone from 6 to 99 years old to discover, experience, and explore the magical world of video games. Naturally, 80% of my visitors are still young people, and she finds it very rewarding to help them discover games!

Soozi Q: Soozi joined us in a different way. She was so passionate in our Patreon Discord thread about the demos she was playing that I invited her to write a guest article about it. And since September 2025, Soozi has contributed 41 articles on demos, play-tests and free games, in the span of the past 4 months! She lives in the northeastern US and loves her cozy games. No combat and no platforming for her, she plays only on Steam and uses a controller while doing her daily exercise-bike rides.

Amanda Seraphim: Amanda is 30 years old and lives in São Paulo, Brazil and like several of our team members, is a cat lover. She joined our team in November 2025, and her gaming journey began with a simple request to her mother for a “Pokémon game,” which led to countless hours spent on Pokémon Stadium on the Nintendo 64. From there, she explored the worlds of the PS2 and Xbox 360—especially enjoying the fun of Kinect—before eventually finding her way back to Nintendo with the Switch.

She has a real passion for indie games created by smaller teams, with a special love for titles made in Brazil. Alongside her work with us, Amanda is also a dedicated content creator, sharing her enthusiasm for games on Instagram, YouTube, and Twitch, and now expanding her presence to TikTok as well.

Caroline King: Caroline lives in Ohio in the US, and is used to writing, though in a very different field and she also joined the team in November 2025. But her love for gaming began with Pokémon and other creature‑collecting adventures, where exploration, strategy, and a sense of companionship come together so beautifully. Over time, her enthusiasm has grown to include simulation and city‑building games.

She is a firm believer of games as educational tools, and she loves genres that let her indulge her creativity, thoughtful planning, and the joy of watching complex systems come to life. These days, you’ll often find her tending cosy farms, shaping bustling cityscapes, or raising quirky creatures on her favourite platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, and Steam Deck. All the while, her original Pokémon starter still lives on in Pokémon Home!

Ruibai Cheng: Ruibai lives in the US and joined our team in December 2025. They have been a gamer for most of their life, beginning with Nintendo handhelds, from the GBA to the N3DS and now the Switch. In recent years, they’ve added a gaming PC to the mix, opening the door to Steam titles that never made their way to Nintendo systems. They have a real love for cozy games, whether that’s tending fields in Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons or unwinding with PowerWash Simulator. They also enjoy putting their “little grey cells” to work with clever, puzzle‑driven adventures like Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, and Rise of the Golden Idol.

We also have two guest writers, Cécile from France and CJ from the US. CJ was part of our team from 2020 till 2022 and is still occasionally writing articles for us. Cécile has been with us since August 2020 and kindly jumped in when we had a technical meltdown here at the site. Since then, she has occasionally written an article for LadiesGamers as well.

Yvonne van Geloven: Plus, there’s me, of course. Dog-lover, by the way! Ever since I started this blog in April 2004, which grew into LadiesGamers, it has given me positive energy—a perfect combination with my full-time job at a large bank. Never in my wildest dreams had I imagined we would see such a big team of writers, almost 12 years after the first article I made!

All that’s left to say is, on behalf of our team, I wish you a Happy New Year and Happy Gaming!
