Island Farmer – Jigsaw Puzzle is the follow-up to Instant Farmer which Yvonne reviewed. It’s a simple tile-switching puzzler available on Steam and should be available on the Nintendo Switch by the end of this year

Island Farmer – Jigsaw Puzzle
Island Farmer – Jigsaw Puzzle is a fun, short game with 20 levels with each level being a separate little island. It’s similar to a memory game as well as a jigsaw. Unlike Instant Farmer where you have to make sure water can reach all your crops to make them grow Island Farmer – Jigsaw Puzzle leans more to the memory game side of things than a full-on jig-saw puzzle.

You get a view of the completed island layout at the beginning of each level. Then the game jumbles the pieces up. So you have to sort all the blocks out by swapping the blocks two at a time. Click on a block and click the one you wish to move it to and the block automatically swap.

20 Levels
You’ll know when you have placed a block in the correct place as it glows and can’t be moved again. If you get stuck and can’t remember how the puzzle looked, you can check out a picture of the completed puzzle at any time.
Once you finish the puzzle buildings and crops pop up and enlarge on the island. sometimes little animals appear and roam around on the completed island. It’s quite sweet to see the island come alive once you have finished puzzling over it.

No Timers
There aren’t any timers, which is great as I’m allergic to being timed in games these days. I don’t like being rushed or having the added pressure of a clock ticking down. There isn’t any move limit in the game, so you’re free to move a block as many times as you like until you find its correct place in the puzzle.
You can, if you wish, turn of the preview of the island, doing so would make the game more difficult and may extend its replay value. As the game is at the moment, it takes roughly 2 hours to complete and there isn’t really any replayability in the game.

Controls
Controls are simple mouse click controls and they work well. You can use the arrow keys to rotate the camera around the island to get a better view. You can even zoom in and out the view of the puzzle as well.
There is also a shuffle key to shuffle the remaining blocks on and Island. Though I don’t see why you need a shuffle key considering the game shuffles the pieces themselves. The graphics are bright, colourful and cheerful. I love the way the island pops into life when a puzzle is completed.

Conclusion
Island Farmer – Jigsaw Puzzle is a simple puzzle game that will give you a couple of hours of gameplay. At the price which is below the £2 mark, you can’t really complain. I wish there were more levels in the game as I would have liked to have carried on playing as I flew through the game and it seemed to be over in a flash.
Final Verdict: I Like It a Lot
