Stardew Valley has been out on the Switch since October 5, 2017. That’s almost two years of farming on-the-go. If you’re like me then you boot up Stardew every now and then, despite having the best farm ever, just to check up on your hubby Sebastian and your baby Leon (and yes, I did name him after Leon S. Kennedy, my favourite Resident Evil character).
If you’re not like me, well then, you better get in there! My goodness, how long has Sebastian been waiting for you to go say hi?!
Update 1.4 is here!
But I digress, the point of this news article is to bring the hype back up for our beloved Stardew. Just yesterday ConcernedApe posted another sneak peek into what to expect with the 1.4 update: fish ponds!
Just in case you haven’t heard about all the other neat stuff coming in the 1.4 update, here’s what you’ve missed thus far:
1) New multiplayer-designed (though still available to choose in single player) map, ‘Four Corners’.
2) A ‘separate money’ option in multiplayer. Say goodbye to a single, shared bank account. Now YOU can take all the hard earned gold from all of those summertime blueberries you’ve lovingly grown, harvested, and sold. No longer will you be under the financial tyranny of a friend who just ‘really needed that backpack upgrade!’.
2.5) If you are lamenting your 250+ hour save game with your friends, and want separate money without starting a new game, fear not! Once the update releases, players can head to the Mayor’s house and get their financial divorce from their friend’s finalized without pesky restarts. You can also re-join your bank account at any time if you so choose; but guuurl, just try remember why you left in the first place.
Those are the things we know for sure so far, straight from the tweety-mouth of ConcernedApe. However, extreme scrutiny of the tantalizing screenshots he’s attached to the tweets seems to indicate that there are possible new character customization options (clothes, hair, etc.), as well as new pet customization options. Seems to me there’s plenty to look forward to!
So start saving up your money, wood and stone in-game now. If you’re like me, then you will want to start farming fish and collecting that roe as soon as the update rolls out.
And if you’re not like me then MY GOD, get in there! Sebastian and Leon have been waiting for AGES!
