Welcome. It’s time to look at the Upcoming Steam Games in October 2024 that we have on our radar. But aside from our Upcoming Steam Games, if you play on Nintendo Switch, we also have an Upcoming Switch Games article here.
Upcoming Steam Games
Furthermore, not all games to be released are on the list here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking notice of these games, and you can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Steam website.
Necro Story – October 7th

Necro Story is a creature-collection RPG where you play as a (kind of) evil necromancer more into undead shenanigans than saving the world! Command quirky minions, outsmart foes, and snag their souls to power up your team. Expect strategic combat, laughs, and plenty of mischief.
Paula enjoyed her time with Necro Story, writing in conclusion:
Necro Story is a twisted RPG that balances dark magic with humour and heart. Its witty dialogue and strategic combat combine to create an experience that sets it apart from other creature-collection RPGs. For players looking for a creature-collection RPG that doesn’t take itself too seriously, Necro Story is a good choice. Its blend of strategy, humour, and quirky charm makes it a unique addition to the genre.
Whimel Academy – October 9th

You are admitted to Whimel Magic Academy starting today! Whimel Academy is a famous magic school where students can study a variety of subjects.
You will also meet fellow students with whom you can develop friendships and potentially romance. Your only goal is to have a fulfilling student life and fruitful education during your six years here. You’ll need to put aside time to earn some extra pocket money, all while balancing your classes, hobbies, and friendships.
Kalina reviewed the game and liked it a lot, saying:
Whimel Academy is a cozy game, that sucks you in easily and keeps you for quite a while. The fact that the game looks hand-drawn is a nice bonus. I, for one, can’t wait to see how the game develops and what else the developer has in store for us.
Hidden in My Paradise – October 9th

Hide objects, decorate, and complete missions in this cozy hidden-object game where you can create little paradises and share them with the world!
Lynne reviewed Hidden in My Paradise and said this in her conclusion:
Hidden in My Paradise adds something extra to the hidden object genre. Being able to move the objects around the scene to help find the items, re-creating snapshots and the ability to create your own levels makes for extended play.
Amber Isle – October 10th

Welcome to Amber Isle – a quaint, friendly village of prehistoric residents who are in need of a new shopkeep… That’s you! You’re tasked with running Amber Isle’s only shop. Gather, craft and sell items to meet the needs of your diverse Paleofolk customers. Does your brachiosaur buddy need a canvas as long as his neck?
Maybe your microraptor amigo needs a mini-sized chair? Perhaps even some waterproof paper is needed for a plesiosaur in peril? Different customers also have different needs, behaviours and preferences to learn. Haggle, pawn, and counter-offer your way to the top of the Shop Rankings! It’s up to you to run a successful shop to bring Amber Isle back from the brink of fossilisation!
Paula reviewed Ambre Isle and liked it a lot, writing in conclusion:
Despite its early bugs and minor frustrations, Amber Isle delivers a charming, cosy simulation with a lot of heart. It’s easy to get swept up running your prehistoric shop and watching the island come back to life with a cast of dinosaurs that are cute and full of character.
Though it still has some rough edges, Amber Isle manages to offer an experience that improves the more time you spend with it. With recent and future patches to smooth out the bugs, it has the potential to be a go-to game for anyone looking for a relaxing yet engaging simulation.
Europa – October 11th

On the moon Europa, a lush terraformed paradise in Jupiter’s shadow, an android named Zee sets out in search of answers. Run, glide and fly across the landscape, solve mysteries in the ruins of a fallen utopia, and discover the story of the last human alive.
Europa is a peaceful game of adventure, exploration and meditation. As you travel, you’ll gradually upgrade the capabilities of your Zephyr jetpack, boosting yourself further through the air until you can flow freely into the sky.
I reviewed Europa and gave it our highest score of Two Thumbs Up;
Europa is a beautiful, reflective journey through a world that’s both familiar and alien. Its gentle atmosphere, combined with Zee’s fluid movement and exploration and a subtle environmental narrative, makes it a unique experience for players who appreciate games that prioritise discovery over action. While it may not appeal to those players seeking traditional adventure or puzzle mechanics, Europa stands out as a tranquil and rewarding experience for those willing to embrace its quiet charms. It was definitely worth the wait for development time: it’s a joy to take to the skies with Zee!
Neva – October 15th

Neva is an emotionally charged action adventure from the visionary team behind the critically acclaimed GRIS.
Neva chronicles the story of Alba, a young woman bound to a curious wolf cub following a traumatic encounter with dark forces. Together, they embark on a perilous journey through a once beautiful world as it slowly decays around them.
Railroad Corporation – October 21st

The 20th century heralds the new age of railroad electrification and a new opportunity to make your fortune. Build your corporation carefully as you deploy modern electric and diesel locomotives, lay new tracks, transport goods and passengers, and stay ahead of the competition.
Paula made an Early Access early impressions article, and wrote:
As it stands, Railroad Corporation 2 is a diamond in the rough. It offers a pretty detailed world and strategic gameplay but is held back by the learning curve and a UI that needs refinement. For now, it’s a promising journey that’s worth taking as long as you’re prepared for a few bumps along the tracks.
Ys X Nordics – October 25th

Embark on a high seas adventure rich with action and exploration in Ys X: Nordics! Experience the perils of Obelia Gulf through the eyes of Adol Christin and his unexpected ally, the pirate Karja Balta, as they help save the people of the gulf from the mysterious immortal monsters known as the Griegr.
James dove right in Adol, and wrote in his conclusion:
Whether you’re a longtime fan of the series or a newcomer looking to dive into a new action RPG, Ys X: Nordics has something to offer. If you’re looking for an exciting adventure with engaging combat and exploration, don’t let this one pass you by.
Fruitbus – October 28th

Fruitbus is a cute culinary adventure set in an open world where taste is everything. Upgrade your trusty truck and visit a whole new world of destinations together.
Discover fresh fruits and vegetables on each island of the Gustum archipelago, learn their customs and cook meals that will make someone’s day. From a giant springy banana to racing wings, customize your Fruitbus to reflect your personality. Find new ways to attract customers with music and bright colours.
Mina liked Fruitbus a lot, and wrote in her review:
If you like simulation titles with heart, I cannot recommend Fruitbus enough. It’s got a few bugs, but it seems like the developers are really on point with trying to make the game as good as it can be. It’s fun; the gameplay does get a little repetitive after a while, but overall, Fruitbus is the most I’ve ever had with a blender and a bunch of veggies.
