First Early Access Update for Oddsparks

The team behind Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure has released its next major Early Access update, the Hot & Cold Update. This update introduces new features, biomes, and improvements for players to explore in this automation adventure that Mina wrote her impressions about.

Two new biomes, the Volcanic Cave and Glacial Plateau, challenge you with hazards that can burn or freeze your Sparks, adding fresh strategy to your gameplay. You’ll also meet four new Sparks—Handy Sparks, Drilly Sparks, Freezing Spark, and Burning Sparks—each with unique abilities to enhance your automation systems.

New digging mechanics let you carve tunnels through volcanic caves, but careful planning is key to avoid trapping your Sparks. The update also introduces Botany, where you can cultivate plants in Greenhouses and optimize production lines, as well as Temperature Automation, which allows you to regulate temperatures for more efficient machinery.

Quality-of-life features include Build Presets for quick access to construction tools, improved quest tracking, Spark load-outs for easier team deployment, and new accessibility options.

A colorful scene from Oddsparks shows a steampunk-inspired underground workshop near a lava flow. The area features mechanical structures, glowing pipes, and conveyor belts with small orange creatures. The player character stands in the center, surrounded by machines, crates, and workstations. A minimap in the top right corner displays the player's location, while the UI on the left and bottom shows inventory and controls. Published on: LadiesGamers.

“We understand many PlayStation fans were excited about Botany Manor’s planned Tuesday release. In the interest of ensuring that players have the best possible experience on that platform, a decision was made to take a little extra time to make sure this happens.

Personal Stories in One Move Away

One Move Away, a first-person narrative puzzle game from Playstack and Ramage Games, will launch in 2025 for PC and consoles. This title transforms the act of packing into an emotional journey, exploring life’s pivotal moments through the lens of moving, both physically and emotionally. As I’m in the middle of moving house myself, I can tell you: it’s quite an intense experience in real life.

You’ll step into the lives of three characters, uncovering their personal stories and feelings hidden within the items they pack. Each move reveals a new perspective on the excitement, melancholy, and nostalgia of starting fresh. With over 20 handcrafted levels, the game combines cozy gameplay with emotional depth, allowing you to pack and unpack in your own style—whether you’re meticulously organizing or cramming everything in and hoping for the best.

Though this description reminds me of games like Unpacking and A Little to the Left, One Move Away isn’t just a game about boxes; it’s a reflection on change and the emotions tied to moving forward.

Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile Announced

Microids and Microids Studio Lyon have announced Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile, an adventure and investigation game based on the mystery novel. Have you ever read it? If not, you might know it from several movies that were based on the book. The game will launch in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.

This title follows the success of the studio’s 2023 project, Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express, which reimagined the classic story with fresh elements while honouring the original. Death on the Nile promises even more innovation, featuring a 1970s Egyptian setting, new storylines, advanced gameplay mechanics, and challenging puzzles.

Players will unravel a gripping mystery as Hercule Poirot and private detective Jane Royce team up, with intertwining investigations taking them across London, Majorca, New York, and Egypt. Expect a captivating story packed with surprises, even for die-hard Agatha Christie fans.

The game is planned for Steam in 2025 and invites you to nurture adorable monsters while building and managing your own care centre! Starting as a rookie veterinarian, you’ll treat unique creatures, expand your facilities, and create a relaxing haven for your companions.

You’ll begin with a small centre, caring for monsters to earn money that can be reinvested in upgrades and expansions. Additionally, you can hatch rare eggs to raise your very own companions and discover their unique traits and interactions.

Physical Version of Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic

Good news for RollerCoaster Tycoon® Classic fans! Atari has announced that the park simulator will receive a physical release for the Nintendo Switch on April 25, 2025. After its digital debut on December 5, where it quickly climbed into the top 15 on the Nintendo eShop, this physical release is perfect for fans and collectors celebrating the franchise’s 25-year legacy.

When Paula reviewed the game, she liked it a lot, saying in conclusion:

“RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic on Nintendo Switch faithfully recreates a legendary series that still holds up as one of the best management sims ever made. However, the lack of touch controls and some performance issues prevent it from fully utilising the platform’s potential. For fans of the series, it’s a nostalgic must-play. For newcomers, it offers a fun, though occasionally clunky, introduction to theme park management.”

Boti: Byteland Overclocked Coming to Consoles

Boti: Byteland Overclocked, a colourful and fluid 3D platformer is coming to PS, Xbox, and Switch on January 10th, 2025.

When James reviewed the game on Steam, he liked it a lot, saying in conclusion:

“Boti: Byteland Overclocked will likely win over the hearts of any gamer looking for a fun casual experience to play alone or with a loved one. Gorgeous graphics, tight platforming, and collectable gameplay make this one of the best platformers I have played this year.

On top of that, you can enjoy this game either online or in local co-op, enabling you to share the positive vibes together however you please. The game falls slightly short with its combat and being a tad too easy. Even so, if you’re looking for something just to put a smile on yourself, then Boti will absolutely achieve that.”
