World’s Goodest Pup is an upcoming card and management game developed and to be released by Pandamander, LLC. A demo of the game is available on its Steam page.
The Gameplay of World’s Goodest Pup
World’s Goodest Pup is a cozy roguelike deckbuilder where we enter dog shows and have our dogs compete with others for a prize. Each card represents a different trick and action. By taking turns, the goal is to reach a certain number of points. However, be aware that some cards allow players to steal points.
In this demo, we can complete a single run with our first dog, a lovable golden retriever. The full game will have many more playable breeds and randomly generated runs.
After winning a level, we can choose our reward: a new trick card, grooming to improve our stats, or unlocking a new breed.
The full game will also feature the option to build and decorate our own pet resorts. In the demo, we can see the first resort, but there’s hardly anything to do. The developers promise different buildings and decorations to purchase and build in the future.
Each run of the dog competition portion of the game comes with a map. We have a merchant every few levels, where we can purchase new cards for our deck or upgrade the cards we already have.
Some Other Things
The art style of World’s Goodest Pup is simplistic, but cute, and the music is pleasant enough. The demo is relatively short – a single run through the last level took me less than 10 minutes, and all the matches were relatively easy.
Final Thoughts
If you like cute, simple card games and dogs, you should try the World’s Goodest Pup demo. It will be interesting to see how the full game develops.
