Adventures of a Cat in Space is a family-friendly point-and-click adventure. While chasing a mouse, a cat finds itself in a rocket, launching into space. Consequentially, it’s on a mission to find its way back home. Along the way, we solve puzzles, explore distant planets across the galaxy, and meet new characters. As our journey progresses, we unlock original music and songs to fuel our unique navigation system and get back to Earth and home.

Adventures of a Cat in Space has a simple point-and-click interface—everything is intuitive, including the use of inventory. Since we are playing as a cat, don’t expect to hold more than one object at a time. Using the inventory is done by dragging the item to wherever you want to use it. When clicking on something interactive, a speech bubble appears over the cat, showing what must be done – like a hint.

The soundtrack plays a big part in the game, almost on par with the gameplay. The main theme is catchy enough to warrant its own release. It’s obvious that a lot of care was taken with the game because, in some parts, it looks quite cinematic.

The storyline starts, and the adventure ahead sounds like something out of a Doctor Who episode, not only because Arthur Darvill of Doctor Who fame is voicing the ship’s onboard computer. The navigation system looks like a TARDIS, and we are told there’s a universal translator installed on board—and that’s just in the demo.

The demo for the game has basic audio and video settings, as well as Steam achievements.

Adventures of a Cat in Space has a lot of character and humor, and I can’t wait to see how the adventure unfolds in the full release. The game will be available on Windows and MacOS sometime soon.
