Are you all enjoying Animal Crossing New Horizons as much as we are at LadiesGamers? Aside from the rest of the excellent gameplay, there are also lots of customisations that you can make to items of clothing. You can even make your own and share them online with others. Time for a guide on QR codes!
There are a few different ways to share your created pieces and also download other people’s creations from online. In this guide we will explain the few steps that are needed to be able to share and download QR codes in to Animal Crossing New Horizon.
Custom Design Pro Editor
In New Horizons you can start designing your own pattens pretty early in the game using the simple pattern tool app on the in game mobile. After you move out of a tent and into your first house you get the option to buy Custom Design Pro Editor for 800 Nook Miles from the Nook shop ATM.
Now you are free to design much fancier items of clothing, including hats and hoodies.
To download any QR Code Designs you must have a Nintendo Switch Online Subscription to be able to scan, use and share your QR Codes with others.
Once you have your subscription set up, you can download the Nintendo Switch Online App from the relevant App Store.
NookLink Setting.
Once you have downloaded the Nintendo Switch Online App, turn on your Nintendo Switch and the Animal Crossing New Horizon game. Before you load your Save File, press the Minus Button on your Switch to go to Settings and Nook will appear.
Have a chat with Nook, select Nook Link Settings, click Yes, Please! to connect and your Nintendo Switch will connect to the Nintendo Online App. Once both are connected you will have access to all the features in the App. The game will then save and reopen as usual for you to play.
Nook Link Options
In the Nintendo Switch Online App, press on the Animal Crossing Icon and you are taken to another page the Nook Link. Here you will find a selection of helpful things that tie into the game.
Passport: You can update your passport details and change your photo in this section.
Best Friends: In this section you can see the best friends you have added during WiFi visits to your island.
Keyboard: You can use this Keyboard on the Nintendo Switch Online App to talk to your friends while they are visiting your Island or you are visiting their Island instead of the tiny keyboard that pops up in game during WiFi. We definitely recommend using the app to talk to your friends and it’s makes tying so much easier than the tiny keyboard.
QR Codes
Now you can scan QR codes into your game from a previous Animal Crossing game you have played such as Animal Crossing New Leaf or the numerous website and social media where you can find QR Codes.
The steps to scan a code into your game are very simple, unfortunately you can only scan one code at a time into your game.
Of course, there are many places to find codes all over the internet. There’s also an Animal Crossing Pattern Tool to make you own or turn a picture into a pattern.
In the Nintendo Switch Online App, press the Animal Crossing icon and then press the Designs Icon, allow permission requested and then point the camera of your Smartphone at the QR Code you wish to scan into your game.
Once the code has scanned into the Nintendo Switch Online App and saved, Open up the Custom Pro Design App on your in-game Smartphone, press the Plus Button on your Nintendo Switch to download your QR Code, the game will ask you to pick a slot to save the QR code into your game.
Once you pick a slot the QR code will download in an instant. If you want to download more than one QR Code you just repeat the above steps for each individual QR code you want to download.
Able Sisters Tailors Shop
You can share designs made in New Horizons but first you will need to construct the Able Sister’s Tailor shop. To unlock the Able Sister Tailors Shop you will need to speak to Mabel twice when she visits your Island. You will need to have built the Museum and Nooks Cranny before you have the chance to speak to Mabel. After you do speak to her she will set up a stall on your Island. Speak to Mabel again and a few days later the shop will be constructed and will open.
Once that is done, along with a Nintendo Switch Online Subscription, you will be able to share your design by doing the following:
Go to the Able Sister’s shop, and at the back of the room should be an online kiosk. When you first use this kiosk, you will be assigned a creator code. Share this code and people will be able to find all of your designs at any point.
You will be able to upload your designs now. It’s as simple as navigating the menus, and each designs will also be assigned a code that you can share online. And finally, of course, you can type in design or creator codes if you want to seek out certain designs that people have created.
