The Premise of Animated Jigsaw Puzzles
In Animated Jigsaw Puzzles, we solve classic-style jigsaw puzzles with a twist. Instead of a stationary picture, we get an animated one.
Gameplay
We have a wooden-looking board with the pieces spread around. We can zoom in and out of the board, but once you zoom in, you can’t move around the board, which is annoying. Also, in a puzzle, sometimes the pieces are all different sizes.
Smaller pieces can make a more significant piece to use with others the same size. I found puzzles like that difficult. Once you fit a size, it clips on the rest of the puzzle, and you can move the whole thing around.
Sometimes, moving the puzzle and trying to fit it into pieces is more straightforward than vice versa. When fitting puzzles, it’s helpful to look at how the animated objects move besides separating the pieces by color. In some of the puzzles, you can move around the solved part of the puzzle to move the animation and see how the pieces fit.
Artwork
In Animated Jigsaw Puzzles, the artwork is fun and lighthearted. Significant parts of the pictures are in the same color, which would be annoying if the puzzles were stationary. However, the animation is much more manageable in this case than if the picture was busier.
Some Side Notes
Animated Jigsaw Puzzles has some basic audio and video settings and Steam achievements. There are over 20 puzzles to solve, but they are not available all at the same time. Two unlock every time you solve one puzzle. One thing to note is that there isn’t much of a difficulty setting when you choose a puzzle, it’s based on the picture, but you don’t know how many pieces are there.
Conclusion
Animated Jigsaw Puzzles is a classic-style jigsaw puzzles with a twist. Instead of a stationary picture, we get an animated one. You have to be a fan of the jigsaw genre. If you’re not all the little similar colored pieces can be a challenge. It’s a good game that can quickly suck you in for a few hours.
