Abbi’s Top Point-and-Clicks 2020
2020 has certainly been an odd year. I’m sure many of us have spent a lot more time than usual stuck indoors – at least we’ve got some good games out of it! I’ve played a fair few point-and-click adventures this year, so here are my recommendations for both old and new fans of the genre.
Memoranda

Genre: Adventure | Puzzle
Memoranda is a surreal game about a young woman who’s slowly losing her name. It’s a classic point-and-click adventure set in a quaint but unique seaside town, filled to the brim with quirky characters.
I reviewed the title and, despite it not being quite my thing, think it would make a wonderful experience for lovers of the quirky and obscure.
The Almost Gone

Genre: Adventure | Simulation | Puzzle
I fell in love with The Almost Gone when I reviewed it, despite not really following the larger story. It’s a beautiful, dark tale of childhood trauma from an adult perspective, brought to life through perspective-based puzzles and subtle but well-utilised sound and graphic design.
Not one for the faint of heart perhaps, The Almost Gone is nonetheless a truly worthy title for any puzzle fan’s collection. I loved it enough to give it our highest rating, and I’m picky about puzzle games!
