Wild Forest Games has released a new trailer for Dragon Shelter, confirming fresh details for the fantasy farming sim ahead of its planned 2026 launch on Steam. The studio has also announced that an updated demo will be available to play from 5 June. The full release remains scheduled for 2026, with Steam currently listed as the only confirmed platform. No pricing has been shared at this stage.
Farming, Dragons and Light RPG Systems
According to the studio, Dragon Shelter combines cozy farming systems with creature care, exploration and light role-playing progression. The focus will be on restoring a neglected farm while rebuilding a long-forgotten bond between humans and dragons.

You are encouraged to grow crops, craft tools, cook meals and build relationships with local townsfolk, alongside raising and caring for a variety of dragon companions.

Updated Demo
You can already try the current demo on Steam, but know there will be an updated demo from 5 June, offering a closer look at the game’s current systems and structure.
According to the Steam page, the Dragon Shelter Demo includes the following content:
- A tutorial introducing the core farming and cooking mechanics
- Two dragon companions (Fire and Water), each with unique elemental abilities
- A magical farm where you can cultivate fantastical crops
- A town kitchen featuring dynamic cooking orders and three recipes
- Five townspeople to meet and build relationships with
- A charming, hand-painted fantasy world to explore
- 2–4 hours of gameplay
