Danish developer Julie Normann Bjørnskov has released an expanded demo for Escape The Baby Alarm, a hand-drawn puzzle adventure, ahead of Steam Next Fest taking place from 15 to 22 June 2026.
The demo is available now on Steam, alongside a newly released trailer that offers a closer look at the game’s surreal take on early parenthood. Escape The Baby Alarm is currently in development for PC via Steam, with a mobile version also planned.
A Personal Story Told Through Puzzle Design
Escape The Baby Alarm draws directly from the developer’s own experiences, turning the emotions, chaos, and exhaustion of early parenthood into imaginative escape room-style puzzles.
Everyday situations are reimagined in unusual ways, where misplaced shoes, cluttered rooms, and overwhelming advice become interactive challenges. The game uses magical realism to blend reality and imagination, reflecting the often dreamlike state of sleepless early parenting.

At its core, the narrative explores a familiar question for many parents, building towards a confrontation with the “Am I a Good Mother?” figure.
Calm Gameplay With No Time Pressure
The puzzles in Escape The Baby Alarm are designed to be explored at your own pace. There are no points or time limits, allowing you to move through each scenario without pressure.
Each hand-drawn scene is filled with small visual clues, encouraging careful observation as you solve puzzles inspired by real moments, from navigating chaotic mornings to managing everyday tasks under fatigue.
The expanded demo highlights how the game transforms ordinary parenting challenges into creative puzzle scenarios. These include obstacle-filled bathrooms, unexpected household mishaps, and the sometimes overwhelming flood of advice that new parents experience.
The aim of Escape The Baby Alarm is to present an honest and thoughtful portrayal of parenthood, offering a perspective rarely explored in games.
