Christmas day has arrived, and you have run around for the three weeks leading up to it, preparing everything for the big day. After a day of exchanging gifts and eating turkey and Christmas pudding, obviously not on the same plate, the family gather around the fire.
Family Games
But what to do to keep the children amused and stop the adults from falling asleep with over-full stomachs? Why not play some games on the Nintendo Switch? Have some family fun with some family games and make more memories.
Of course, there are all the usual Mario games to play like Mario Party, Golf and Tennis. But let’s look at some other family games to play in which everyone can participate; I’ve played these games with my grandchildren, and we have had a lot of laughs.
Monopoly
Did you know that the old family favourite board game, Monopoly, is available on the Nintendo Switch? Monopoly has been the centre of countless family gatherings over the years. The Switch version is a faithful representation of the board game, as you can choose to play on the Classic board.
The Monopoly video game objective is the same as the board game; you move around the board, buying and auctioning properties until only one player is left standing.
Once you have had enough of the classic board, you can play on the ‘Living’ board. A board such as City, Amusement Park, or Haunted. On The living boards, you move around the Monopoly setup, and it also includes large 3D visuals for each property.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire
You’ve probably seen Who wants to be a millionaire; the television game shows are based on a question-and-answer format. The format offers large monetary prizes for correctly answering multiple-choice questions of increasing difficulty.
Of course, you don’t get the large monetary prices in the Switch game, but it does provide a lot of laughs and fun for the family. By playing in teams, you can all tackle answering the questions together. Additionally, there are local multiplayer, cooperative, free-for-all and family modes to try out.
51 Worldwide Games
As the title suggests, there are 51 games to play in Worldwide Games, from single-player to multiplayer games. In addition, there are a vast selection to choose from, a variety of board, card, tabletop, and toy sports games.
Kids will enjoy favourites like four-in-a-row, while active children can use their reflexes and enjoy games like slot cars and toy boxing. If there are more players, split up into teams and take on Ludo, air hockey, toy boxing, tennis, fishing, golf, and darts.
Overcooked All You Can Eat!
Overcooked All You Can Eat is one of the best couch co-op games out there. You and the family can work together to ensure that all your food orders arrive on time.
Overcooked is a madcap dash around the kitchen, hilarious when playing in teams. You’ll have to work together (or against each other) to get the highest score as you prepare, cook and serve up a variety of tasty orders before the baying customers storm out in a strop.
