May is over, five months into 2016 and it’s time to pick another Game of the Month here on Ladiesgamers.com. My gaming month was only three weeks long, as I spent my first week of May on holiday in Salzburg. Somehow I hardly play any games on a holiday, even when I bring multiple devices with me. Aside from the benefits of Streetpassing abroad, I always think I will be able to put some gaming time in my evenings, but I always fail at that. Well, maybe failing isn’t the right term, as holidays are all about family. And it just means my family is priority as it should be!
So what did I play this month? First of all, I still played some Digimon Story on my Vita. Such a great game, even if you aren’t in any way familiar with Digimon. I kept comparing the Digimon to Pokémon, and the monster collecting in this game wasn’t my first priority. The story however grabs you and won’t let go anymore! You can read my review here.
Another game I played on my Vita is Atelier Escha & Logy. It’s the game that is the second one in the Dusk series, right after Atelier Ayesha. It was first released on the PS3 a couple of years ago, but now you can play it in the Plus version on the Vita. My review of the game isn’t on the site yet, but I can tell you in advance that it’s another great Atelier game. I’m quickly turning into a fan of the series.
I didn’t play on my European 3DS or my Japanese 3DS at all, but I finally did play Fire Emblem Fates, Birthright on my American 3DS. I had it downloaded since release to be honest, but at the time I just couldn’t tear myself away from Bravely Second. It’s another solid game if you are into tactical RPG. A good storyline, like-able characters and Birthright is a game newcomers to the series can use to ease into the Fire Emblem experience. You don’t have to stick to the battles that make up the story either, you can easily spend hour upon hour doing the challenges, extra battles and castle battles. And we’ve not even discussed all available DLC yet. My review of the game is here.
I don’t know what’s wrong with me this gaming year. Either the games I’m playing are that good, or I have trouble making decisions! Once again I found myself in doubt, it was either going to be Atelier Escha & Logy or Fire Emblem Birthright. But upon pondering the decision I decided it was only fair to make Fire Emblem Birthright my Game of the Month May. The game gives so much for your money, and I have yet to find one negative review!
I’m curious, what was your favorite game this past month?
Awesome! I just started playing Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth myself, and I will definitely be checking out your review! My favorite game that I’ve been playing this month is probably still Hyrule Warriors Legends, and the new DLC including a map and Medli helped to prolong my time spent with it even more!
It’s fun how DLC can add to our gaming experience just as long as it’s not too expensive.
Had you ever played a Digimon game before?
Birthright is probably my game of the month too. At the moment I am playing Conquest and it is getting pretty tough. Got game over screens on chapters 20 and 21. Level twenty is so annoying due to the wind.
That’s indeed what I hear all around, that Conquest is much harder! I’m at chapter 23 in Birthright and for the first time my troops are dying on me. I must be getting sloppy!
