Overall feeling: I Like it a Lot!

Ghost 1.0 is a humorous metroidvania game. You play as the mysterious Ghost hired by hackers in order to infiltrate the Nakamura Space Station and steal information from a large company. But the space station defends itself! With Ghost’s unique abilities and help from the hackers you have to fight off enemies, and explore hidden areas. The story gets more complicated when the hackers find out about their agent’s hidden ties…

A Digital Ghost and Her Guns

3D Printing Process

Ghost is not simply an android, but a digital ghost capable of leaving the android body to control enemy androids. You use this ability often to activate switches, make use of their abilities, and thin out enemies in the next area. Ghost wields a gun that recharges in little time. Along the way you can purchase other types of guns and power ups with the yellow cubes found throughout the station. The best way to get cubes is tripping alarms. When the alarm goes off robots, lasers, and flying devices will come out to attack you. If you survive you should activate the console in the room. Crates of cubes are awarded to you.

As you explore you collect passwords to open other areas of the station. I was very happy to find while exploring you can teleport from one saving point to another. The saving points take the form of 3D printers that create new androids when you die or perform  repairs. Also no scifi adventure would be complete without large mechanical boss fights. There are two modes for Ghost 1.0: Classic is the adventure that progressively becomes more challenging. Survival is unforgiving, but weapons are collected easily.

Houston, We Have Humor

I’m always interested in the character dialogue.  The two hackers make references to science fiction movies and bicker with each other.  On the other hand Ghost has a dry sense of humor and is firm on keeping her own secrets. Animated scenes show the hackers discussing their goals and bickering. We also get a peek at the company’s realization of an intruder.  The graphics have a retro look and glowing lights for your science fiction immersion.

Conclusion

I highly recommend Ghost 1.0. It is a fun game with funny and quirky dialogue. The power ups and destructive weapons make Ghost a joyride of a game. Which is why I can safely give this game an Like it a Lot!
