Welcome to the sunny island of Qälis, when you arrive on the island you meet a bunch of different characters. Some of the characters only appear as the storyline progresses. And all the characters will have a multitude of ongoing quests for Koa to complete throughout the game.

Some quests are pretty straight forward to complete, others involve a lot of back and forth, going between Koa’s Home Island and the island of Qälis. But all serve to either progress the story, or to give Koa new recipes and ways to make the Home Island more bountiful and beautiful.
This guide covers the quests up until you get the Sea Maps from Saimi. For what follows, you can find the continued guide here.
Who’s who on Qälis
The characters Koa meets are all shown on the Qälis map once you have talked to them. The first two characters Koa encounters are Noho and Caleb, who you find on the pier.
The three merchants in the market are Pilly, Milly and Tilly. And standing to the front of the market place is Onzo the cat-person, who later in the story makes an appearance at the pond on Qälis.
Koa will find Edegan at the Bank at the end of the street in the green building. At the restaurant along the street near the sea front Koa will find Awan the restaurant owner and Mayo another cat-person standing in front of the restaurant.
Taka and Brram can be found on the beach at the beachside cafe. And Blu can be found up beside the Qälis Temple. Up at the mansion Koa will find the mansion owner, Aquila.
Across from the mansion in the house surround by a large metal fence is the blacksmith Akaji. And last but not least the lady in the lighthouse at the top of the hill is Saimi.
Quests, Quests and more.
On the pier talk to Noho for a quest: Find 5 Mail crabs so you can read their lost letters, this can be done while you are completing other quests.
On the beach (at the end of the wooden boardwalk) talk to Brram for a quest: plant Brram’s corn seeds back on your Home Island and bring him back a few cobs.
Koa’s quest: make some thread in your workshop and bring it to Noho.
Koa’s quest: speak with the inhabitants of Qälis and figure out a way to make Saimi the lady in the lighthouse open the door. A novel and Moilusk shell are required to win her around. The novel is given to you by Onzo as a reward when you do their next quest shortly. I bought a Moilusk shell from Tilly in the marketplace, but you can also find it at the small beach leading up to the lighthouse.
On the beach talk to Brram to get the next quest: bring 2 x onions 2 x potatoes and 1x octopus, you can buy seed’s in the market place from Milly to grow these crops at the Home Island.
Visit Edegan in the Bank for the next quest: Bring him 50 coins to open a bank account, if you don’t have 50 coins you can sell what you don’t want in your inventory in the marketplace. If you have constantly been gathering resources throughout the game you should have plenty of items and crops to sell. You can buy the seeds you need from Milly and if you can’t catch an octopus fishing you can buy one from Tilly.
Give Edegan 50 coins and he tells you this…to use the navy salute to Saimi in lighthouse and say this…
“ May the winds of Mara be kind to you”
Talk to Onzo the cat in the market place for another quest: to bring 3 sunflowers to Onzo, sunflower seeds can be bought from Onzo the cat-person.
Talk to Onzo the cat-person again for another quest: grow 1x pumpkin, grow pumpkins back at your home island, give pumpkins to Onzo in return he gives you his book.
Will I Get The Map Soon!?
Finally after all that you get to go and talk to Saimi at the Lighthouse to be given a quest: bring Haku’s flower to Saimi. First though, you need to upgrade your hoe.
Talk to Caleb down at the pier before you get on your boat and Caleb will give you this quest: 2 x carrots 3 x lettuce seeds. Plant and return with crops required to Caleb, he’ll give you the recipe for the upgraded hoe.
Return to island and make the hoe, go to the Guardian’s Door Fountain and pick 3 flowers at the little shrine. These are Haku’s flowers, take them back to Saimi in the Lighthouse.
Quest from Saimi: go to Grand Mansion on North side of island and get paper. Be careful not to buy it from Aquila, as he will charge you ridiculous prices. You’re given a recipe (by Onzo?) to make paper.
Koa’s quest: Make paper at workshop at the Home Island, 2 x resin is needed to make the paper.
Koa’s quest: Talk to Edegan at bank, when you do, Edegan’s he gives you this quest: talk to Pilly, Milly and Tilly in the marketplace, ask for money owed to Edegan.
Of course Milly and Tilly give you a quest: to collect items to sell to reach 300 coins to pay of their debt. (I wish I could have others pay for me too, lol). And another Pilly quest, which is to give a pack of cards to Noho.
When you talk to Noho you’re given this quest: make and bring mushroom soup to Pilly, Milly and Tilly. When you return to your Home Island you will find the mushrooms growing happily on your island.
Talking to Napopo (I have found that I can only talk to her on the beach at the Home Island), she will give you this quest: 1 x red crayon 1 x orange crayon, the crayons can be bought at the marketplace or Noho’s shop.
A Few More Quests
Talking to Caleb will get you this quest: talk to Aquila in the Mansion to get a boat model, once you bring the boat back to Caleb he gives you a new quest: take money given to Koa by Caleb to Edegan in the Bank.
After you pay Caleb’s debt, you get a recipe, return it to Caleb.
Caleb quest: Pick Taka’s oven up from the beach cafe and bring it back to Caleb, collect the oven and return to Caleb.
Caleb quest: fetch 4 x screws, 2 x metal tube, 5 x metal bars from the blacksmith, return to Caleb: quest: take repaired oven back to Taka and return back to Caleb at the pier and your given another quest to make Caleb favourite dish, Koa style Paella!
Koa quest: Take paper and ink to Saimi in the lighthouse
Koa quest: Go to Qälis restaurant and ask for a Mayo who gives you the following…
Koa quest: Make 4 Ankora Salads and give to 4 inhabitants of Oalis island, deliver the salads (don’t make the mistake of accidentally eating them yourself!) and return to Mayo.
After returning to Mayo you’re given another quest: Ask Onzo for a Pirate eyepatch.
Koa quest: After speaking to Onzo take the eye patch back to Mayo.
Koa quest: return to Saimi in the lighthouse who wants some vegetables oil. You have to give Sunflower seeds to Taka, and he will give you the recipe for the oil which you can then make on the island. You need Sunflowers to do so.
Mayo quest: talk to Mayo to get this quest catch some fish to help Mayo, 2 x bass 2 x cat fish. The fish can be caught during fishing in the sea fishing spots, once you return the fish to Mayo you receive a recipe for Chocolate.
if you talk to Mayo, your given a Croissant backpack as a peace offering.
Quest: Show your backpack to Brram, Equip the backpack from the menu by pressing Y. Upon seeing your new backpack Brram gives you a backpack recipe.
Quest: Make Brram a new backpack.
Awan quest: Awan owner of restaurant requires 5 x lettuce and 1 x beetroot, which can be grown on your home island with seeds bought from the marketplace.
Awan quest: buy special dishes from Taka at the beach cafe,
Taka quest: bring 5x sunflowers to Taka, which you can buy the seeds for in the marketplace and grow on home island.
Taka quest: collect 3 x pepper seeds
Awan quest: deliver order to Aquila in the mansion.
Aquila quest: take payment back to Awan
Mayo quest: bring 5 x metal to Awan’s to sharpen knives
Koa quest: and finally make and bring the vegetable oil to Saimi in the lighthouse to get the Map.
And after all that running around and with the Map of the open sea in Koa’s possession, a exploration trip around the sea is in order.
Where are the blueprints located after you receive them,
I don’t know where the blueprints are located once Koa gets them and before there handed over, I never could find them in the menu. Maybe Koa has a secret pocket or something.

I can’t find the crabs i could only find 3 on the beaches
I was wondering: my sheep, pigs, and chickens ran away I guess and I need butter but I can’t find any. Does anyone know what to do?
