Hidden Cats in Spooky Village is yet another hidden-object game in the Hidden Cats series, developed and released by Nukearts Studio. All our other reviews in the series, plus those of some other hidden animals games, can be found on the Hidden Animals page.

Find the Cats!
Hidden Cats in Spooky Village is Nukearts Studios’ latest Halloween-themed hidden-object game, and it works just like others in the series. In it, you must find more than 1200 objects across 12 levels, including both cats and the people who inhabit eerie scenarios filled with ghosts, werewolves, vampires, and all sorts of creepy creatures.
The first level is the one with the most objects to find, and it’s the one that unlocks cards and the other scenarios, though the last one can only be unlocked after completing all the others. The first level also has a unique feature: every time you complete an area by finding all its hidden objects, that section becomes colored in, indicating you can move on and focus on the rest of the scene.
Some cats are hidden beneath other objects, so you must pay close attention to any shaking rock, leaf, or item in the scene. This makes the hunting a little more difficult and fun, adding an extra layer of concentration and observational skills. But if you ever find yourself struggling to find a cat, the game has a hint option that can make your life a little bit easier. Although I would advise against it, since there are achievements that can only be unlocked if you don’t use any hints.

A Pleasant Game to Relax
I’m a particular fan of hidden object games, especially those about cats. Every title has its own unique features, but all are enjoyable when you need to relax. Hidden Cats shines here with multiple levels and themes, and the studio consistently releases new titles every few months. The first level’s unique feature—coloring each section as you complete it—is one of my favorite mechanics in hidden object games.
A separate counter for cats hidden under objects could better guide players on what to expect, but the visual cue of a subtly shaking scene is also a brilliant solution. All animations in the levels are actually quite lovely and add fascination to the hunting task.

Conclusion
Hidden Cats in Spooky Village it’s a hidden object game that fulfils genre expectations while avoiding mere basics; it uses a formula that’s more engaging than average. The series’ consistent release schedule without quality loss is also praiseworthy, especially since the games don’t take long to complete. A great addition to your Steam library and a source of new achievements, this game is a fine title for anyone who wants to spend a few hours searching for cats.
Final Verdict: I Like it a Lot
