As you know we are always on the lookout for wholesome games, Hokko Life might just be our kind of game. At the moment it is set to release on Steam, but we can be ever hopeful that Hokko life makes its way to the Nintendo Switch to.
Hokko Life is a community sim game that invites you to escape the hustle-bustle and relax in your new home of Hokko. Build the town of your dreams with Hokko Life’s creativity tools, which allow you to customize and design furniture, clothing, and much more! Are those creative juices flowing yet? Why not relax and while away the hours at a local fishing spot, go out hunting bugs or tending to your garden!

Arrive in Hokko Town
You arrive by train to the town of Hokko. Once you step off the train into the town of Hokko you can start getting settled into your new home! Hokko is a quiet village and it needs your help to turn it into the charming rural town that everyone loves. With hammer and paints in hand, it’s up to you to design, build and decorate homes for all of your new friends!

You’ll be able to make friends with the villagers, each one of them a unique animal character. And help them out with tasks, such as building houses for them to live in. Whilst talking to other town residents you can use emotes in conversation. There will be a simple menu of emotes to choose from to allow you to express yourself.

Crafting and Design
You can craft using materials you have collected and combine them to create new furniture and items for the town. Or take apart existing furniture and re-design it your way.
You can also collect flowers and mix paints. With the paints you have mixed you can use them to let your designing flare go wild. Design wallpaper, flooring. That’s not all though, you can also design your clothing to wear. So, get busy in the dusty old workshop and let your creativity flow!

Decorate
Once you have constructed your furniture using the 3D design tool you can customise your furniture and share your creations with other players. Local villagers can request items of furniture to be made such as a wooden chair with a butterfly design.

You will have your garden to grow crops and plants. You can use any plot of land to turn it into a place to grow whatever vegetables and plants you want. Once your vegetables are grown you can sell the best products in the shop.
If you have any time left in the day you could try your hand at a spot of relaxing fishing in one of the fishing spots in Hokko. All the fish have their own habits and patterns so you will need to modify your approach to catching them.
Explore and catch bugs.
Go exploring in the Mine and Forest and gather resources from the environment. Hokko is home to a whole range of insects. Equip your net and get to catching and build up your bug collection.

Ok, I have to ask the obvious: What would make me buy this when I already have Animal Crossing? I don’t see a difference.
