It must be the time of year, with new beginnings after the Summer holiday, but whatever it is, we have another Kickstarter worth mentioning: Neko Ghost, Jump! by Burgos Games.
A Case of Cats against Dogs
Are you a cat lover who is also a fan of a good platfomer? Neko Ghost, Jump! has you covered. This Kickstarter project features is a very cute but challenging puzzle platformer that stars Nekoman in his quest to rescue his bride-to-be Nekogirl from the clutches of the evil Space Dog Pirates.
Players have the ability to switch between 2D & 3D camera perspectives which you will use primarily to solve puzzles as well as to find weak points in certain enemies. Another gameplay feature is the ability to switch to your ghost form. This is used primarily for combat purposes, but also there are hidden items and puzzles that will require the ghost form.Each biome will have its own unique boss encounter where you have to utilize everything you’ve learned in the game at the time to defeat the boss.
With leaderboards in every level, those with a competitive itch may find solace in knowing this isn’t just any “casual” game. Not only that but with cross-platform support you’ll be competing against the whole world no matter which version you play. You can then use the coins you collect in the game to customize your character with hundreds of customization combinations.
What does the future hold?
The Kickstarter only has two more days to go, it ends this Friday (August 7th), 5 PM EDT. The original goal of $ 15,000 has been long met ($ 18,507 has been pledged by 417 backers) but there are still interesting stretch goals to strive for.
One of the interesting add-ons is the Pet-Tribute, in which you can have your own pet turned into a skin in the game. The specifics still need some work on this though, as the developer adds that this will likely not be an animated skin like the other customisation options, but more of a toy or cat statue in the game.
