Little Corners Demo Impressions

Demo code provided, with many thanks to Secret Sauce.

Little Corners is an upcoming game about decorating rooms and unlocking hidden stickers. In the demo, there are currently three different rooms you can decorate, and each one will eventually have some secret items you will be able to unlock in the full version.

The Gameplay of Little Corners

Little Corners isn’t a narrative game like Unpacking, but is more just a room-decorating game. You get an empty little corner, and you get to fill it with stickers. You can rotate them, change the layering, and place them in order to decorate the cutest rooms.

So many different storage solutions.

The three corners you can decorate are an Alchemist’s Lab, an Adventurer’s Tavern, and an Astronomer’s Tower. You can change the background and the music to give yourself the best possible groove in which to turn your interior decorator on and get sticking.

There are five or six different sheets of stickers with chairs, lighting, tables, decorations, drinks, books, scrolls, candles, windows, doors, plants, and more. One of the rooms even has individual books, globes, and several telescopes, too. Each of the sticker sheets have matching vibes, so you can use everything or anything in the stickers and you know they will match with everything else.

I love the flooring, so I am sad I have to cover it with cute furniture.

The Pros and Cons of Little Corners

The rooms and furniture are super cute in Little Corners. You get to decorate the rooms as many times as you like, and it appears that the full version will feature several new corners and hidden stickers to collect. It’s nice to just kind of vibe and put furniture where you want it to be. The fact that there are no quests, goals, or timers makes this a lovely, relaxing game to spend time with.

The hidden stickers aren’t in the demo, but I look forward to seeing how they work in the full game.

However, there are a few things I would like to see in the full game. I was pretty sad that I couldn’t change the colors of any of the furnishings, flooring, decorations, or other items. You are stuck with the color pallets that you see in the sticker sheets. Also, you can only orient items in two ways; there is no way to put things at fun angles or have the back of something face you so you can decorate the invisible wall closest to you.

Aaaaah, so many cute books!

Overall, it feels like a demo of a much bigger game. I think that you will get a good idea of the gameplay with this demo, but I have a gut feeling that the full game of Little Corners is going to have a whole lot more on offer than the tiny piece we get here.

Final Thoughts

Little Corners is a very simple concept that has been taken into a highly detailed extreme. The stickers are extremely detailed, and you have tons of choices when you are putting together your rooms. It can be a challenge to get your room exactly as you want it, but it is a demo. I have a feeling there is going to be a whole lot more in the full version when it is released.

I love what this game has to offer at the moment, and I look forward to see what else is added in the future. If we get even more stickers, more colors, more music, and more backgrounds, this will probably be one of my favorite room decoration games that has been released so far. Beautiful, cute, relaxing, and a whole lot of fun.
