Well, well….The E3 hasn’t even begun and some amazing news was leaked: Bandai Namco is porting Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch to the Nintendo Switch this Fall! No confirmation from the company yet though.
Collaboration Studio Ghibli and Level 5
This JRPG was developed by Level-5 and featured animated cutscene sequences by Studio Ghibli, famous for animated masterpieces such as Princess Mononoke and Howl’s Moving Castle. Rounded up by a beautiful soundtrack co-composed by Joe Hisaishi .
The game first appeared on the DS in Japan in 2010, with the title Ni no Kuni: Dominion of the Dark Djinn. The DS game never made it west, but a remastered version did. It’s just that it was released as a title on the PS3 in 2013 under the name: Wrath of the White Witch.

Remake of the original DS game
I had the pleasure of importing the game from Japan, and playing it on my Japanese 3DS. I instantly loved it. The Book of Spells that came with the imported game looks so good. The game tells a powerful story in beautiful graphics.
Here’s a bit more info about my experience with the DS game: Ni no Kuni DS: DS games never released in the West

So you can see why I’d think this is amazing news and a must buy for me. Going it in Japanese was quite challenging, so I’m eager to play the adventure again.
Here’s the trailer from the PS3 game, keep your hanky at the ready!
WOW, that would be super awesome!
I still kept my copy of the Wii version, but I would rather play it again on the Switch!
I wish they could port Ni No Kuni 2 to the Switch too
A Wii version? I’m guessing you mean the PS3 version? And I should think that if the first game is a success on Switch, we will surely get the second one too!
Yes, I meant PS3, sorry.
I love all the good Switch news!
