Supermarket Duck Dash is a silly little game where you have to control a duck who is shopping at a grocery store. In order to win, you need to knock items off of the shelf and dump them into your cart.

The Gameplay of Supermarket Duck Dash
There isn’t a story to Supermarket Duck Dash; you are basically a duck in a grocery store. You have to move your cart, then knock things off of shelves with your wings and into the cart. After that, you can go up to the cashier and buy all the stuff in your cart. It’s pretty basic; you move, you extend a wing, and that’s about it. So it’s a little curious how, with so few moving pieces, the developers could mess it up so completely.

The Cons of Supermarket Duck Dash
The physics are so bad in this game I feel like it wasn’t playtested at all. If you do manage to knock something into your cart by sheer luck, most of what you get in there will bounce right back out again. The wing movement is terrible, as it’s nearly impossible to get at the right angle actually to dump anything into your cart.

It’s a shame; Supermarket Duck Dash has the silly aesthetic I would normally love in video games. The pause menu is a wet floor sign, there is potential for hilariously named fake food brands, and you’re a silly duck in a grocery store—all funny things that could be comedy gold if done well.

There are three different modes, and all of them are ruined by the terrible physics. I wasn’t even able to play all of them because I could barely get through the first one. Overall, it’s a great concept that was ruined by less-than-stellar implementation.

Overall Thoughts
It’s really hard to look past the gameplay of Supermarket Duck Dash and actually review anything else about the game. The music and graphics are fine, and the whole aesthetic is fun and funny. But it’s so hard to play that I don’t even know what else I could say about it.

Conclusion
Supermarket Duck Dash feels like it’s supposed to be hectic and fast-paced, but you can’t move at any kind of speed without knocking everything else back out of your cart.
There is also a whole bunch of stuff you can’t reach up on really high shelves. I think the best I did was a couple of small items that barely stayed in my cart. Overall, it was not a well-made game, and it was not fun. It’s a real shame; this could be an amazingly fun, silly title, but it fell short of the mark it was obviously aiming for.
Final Verdict: I Don’t Like It.
