LadiesGamers Has Grown

For several years now, LadiesGamers as you know it, has existed. What started out as my personal journey in the world of video-gaming turned into a fully-fledged site. At first, in 2009, it felt like I was sort of on the side lines as an older woman in a world that seemed populated by young people. Since then I found my footing in a very supportive community.

Other writers joined me and the site grew, bringing you new content every day. Our writers team consists of all ages and genders and we still write from a family friendly perspective. And we don’t just write about what many people might consider “real video games”. After all, we consider all games on any handheld device worth playing as long as you enjoy them!

LadiesGamers as it is now focuses on promoting and reviewing indie games which may not receive mainstream coverage. And it specializes in Wholesome Games, a phrase that was only recently added to the kind of games I’ve loved since day one. The cute, the colourful and of the kind that made you feel good playing them. No earth shattering story, no deep plot, no dangers lurking around every corner. Just the joy of playing that’s making you feel good. And this includes, of course, our much loved Animal Crossing too. After all, could you imagine LadiesGamers without the game series I love best?

Patreon: Keeping the Site Ad-Free

There’s one thing that’s been firmly in place since the beginning: keeping the site ad-free. As you can imagine the server space needed to rent is growing, there’s cost like the domain and protection for the site. I tend to say jokingly that this is turning into one heck of a costly hobby! And still, I don’t want the site pages to look like Las Vegas with glittering, pulsing ads vying for your attention.
