Publisher Mindscape and developer Aesir Interactive have released the new Wildlife Update for The Legend of Khiimori, bringing fresh activities and wildlife to the game’s Early Access adventure. Which is good news, as when James reviewed the Early Access at release, he wrote in conclusion:

Set in 13th-century Mongolia, The Legend of Khiimori is an open-world survival adventure where you take on the role of a courier rider. As you explore vast steppes, mountains, and deserts, you build a bond with their horse, breed specialised bloodlines, and journey through a world inspired by Mongolian history and mythology.
What’s Included in the Wildlife Update?
So, what can we expect from the new update?
- Fishing Minigame: Catch a variety of fish, including rare species, which can be used as food during your travels.
- Animal Ledger: Track the wildlife you encounter, record new species, and unlock crafting recipes from materials obtained through hunting.
- New Wildlife: The world is now home to additional animals, including gazelles, sheep, donkeys, and other fauna.
- Cargo Protection: Add protective layers to your saddlebags to help keep cargo safe from environmental damage.
