My Time at Sandrock – November 2nd

My time at sandrock LadiesGamers

300 years after the Day of Calamity destroyed most modern technologies, travel to the desert community of Sandrock and take on the role of a fledgling Builder. Use your trusty toolset to gather resources, construct machines, and turn your run-down workshop into a well-oiled production facility to save the town from the jaws of economic ruin.

Craft, grow, mine and forage while exploring to help the people in town and grow the workshop. Your resources will be found in all kinds of piles of debris lying around, and you will recycle it in your crafting station. Like back in My Time at Portia, all the important elements are in these simulation games, with a huge world to explore and many, many hours of gameplay.

Paula wrote her Early Access review:

The game takes new characters to a new location and updates some mechanics for the better. However, if you have played the previous game, it will feel very familiar, like returning home to see an old friend.

Fashion Dreamer – November 3rd

Fashion Dreamer is a creative-focused game where players can express their unique styles using their avatar, called a Muse. Designers can create their own iconic looks, from cosy casualwear to chic couture, choosing from hundreds of available options that can be customized to be a truly one-of-a-kind look.

Once players find their signature style, they can show off their latest outfits across different areas, called Cocoons. There, they can also explore inspiring new fashions from other Muses, whether playing on- or offline or displaying them in their showroom to garner even more attention and Likes for their brand.

Players can also increase their influence by completing design challenges and unlocking even more customization options to elevate their brand. Featuring asynchronous multiplayer, the world of Eve is inhabited by the Muses of designers from around the globe, allowing players to find inspiration or earn Likes for their most iconic fit virtually anywhere!

Yvonne reviewed Fashion Dreamer and said this in her conclusion:

If you are looking to manage a store, if you want a storyline or deep gameplay, you shouldn’t go for Fashion Dreamer. Instead, this is a lighthearted game, bringing fun and distraction. It’s easy to pick up for short gameplay sessions, and it’s extra fun when you can share it with people you “know” across the globe. I use the term “know” loosely, though; let’s say people you’ve met on social media or in other games.

Even though I recognize that Fashion Dreamer could use more beef to the bone, I’m still having a great time playing it. Let’s hope the promised updates for December 2023 and January 2024 bring us more elements. When that happens, my verdict might just go up a notch.

Ebenezer and the Invisible World – November 3rd

Join Ebenezer Scrooge and a team of spectral allies in this adventure platformer as they battle to save London from the clutches of the wealthy industrialist Caspar Malthus and his militant Private Guard.

With each Ghost lending their unique abilities, explore the dark corners of London and uncover the sinister influence of the Dark Spirit and an army of Unrepentant Ghosts. Will you have the courage to confront Caspar and stop his malevolent plans before it is too late?

James liked the game, writing in the conclusion for his review:

Ebenezer and the Invisible World is a surprisingly good adventure game that really captures the joy and spirit of its source material. Though it takes on the familiar exploration formula, its unique approach to combat and beautiful art style make this something quite special. However, while I do recommend it, you may want to hold this on your wishlist on Switch until all its issues are ironed out.

Farmer Bundle – November 6th

Bring your rakes and spades and immerse yourself in a charming, blocky puzzle experience!

Memorize farm layouts, swap scrambled plots of land to match them, and watch your little agricultural islands spring back to life in this tiny bundle of three games. We had the pleasure in the past of reviewing all three of them, for which you can find the reviews here.

Paula reviewed Island Farmer, I reviewed Instant Farmer, and Elena reviewed Floating Farmer!

Caroline reviewed this Otome game, writing in her conclusion:

Even though it could be a tough playthrough at times with the heavy topics and the despair, Virche Evermore ~ErroR: Salvation~ is one of the top Otome games of this year. They have done a phenomenal job with the storytelling and even the characters are intriguing and going through their own character development in their routes.

Now, you can take control of the action and be at the centre of your own adventure in the wizarding world. You experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Make allies, battle Dark wizards, and ultimately decide the fate of the wizarding world.

This title has been out on Steam and other consoles for some time and is now coming to Switch.

Paula reviewed the Switch version, and wrote in her conclusion:

Overall, if you are a keen fan of the Harry Potter universe, you will likely enjoy Hogwarts Legecy on the Nintendo Switch. What I like the most is walking around Hogwarts, watching students and seeing the talking, moving pictures and bumping into ghosts. As you pass by, some NPCs will throw a couple of phrases in your direction or play a piece of music; this makes the world feel alive.

James gave the game an I Like it a Lot, and wrote in his conclusion:

A unique variety of characters with their own play style, beautiful graphics and that ever-addictive gameplay loop is calling you to try again, even against impossible odds. To top it all off, you can bring a loved one along to enjoy the journey together.

Worldless is a stylised 2D platformer with a unique, active, turn-based combat system and a mind-bending interpretative narrative. Players embark on a journey of self-growth and understanding. Pushing the limits of their nature in a newly born and abstract universe.

James reviewed the game, and wrote in his conclusion:

I liked Worldless, but I wasn’t very good at it. Visually, the game looks great, and I had a lot of fun exploring the world and trying to make sense of the vague story while taking in the scenes and listening to the score. Combat, however, is tough.

Train Valley 2 – November 22nd

James liked the game a lot, and wrote in his review:
