Premise
In Vacation Adventure: Park Ranger 16 Collector’s Edition, we accompany the park rangers on their job around Pinecreek Hills National Park.
The Gameplay of Vacation Adventure
Vacation Adventure: Park Ranger 16 Collector’s Edition is a typical hidden object game. It consists of scenes where we find objects and mini-games.
Each scene takes us to a different location around the park—the Eagle Sanctuary, Springfield’s Conservation Park, or the Monorail. The setup for the game is a classic hidden object scene – we have a list of objects to find at the bottom of the screen and a picture to search for. Thankfully, the images are clear, and spotting an object is not too difficult. We also have a helpful hint button and some unique objects to find.
The mini-games between hidden object scenes are varied – jigsaw puzzles, crossing out words, spotting the difference. I liked the one where we had a map with empty spots and needed to put the correct places in the empty parts. It looks like a jigsaw puzzle. Of course, you can skip mini-games if you are not a fan.
Vacation Adventure: Park Ranger 16 has three play modes: casual, challenge, and extreme. The main differences are in how long it takes for the skip and hint buttons to recharge. The casual mode has no timer.
The game has in-game achievements, and we can collect wildlife stickers throughout the game. Since this is a Collector’s Edition, we also have access to the soundtrack, some wallpapers, bonus levels, and puzzles.
Vacation Adventure: Park Ranger 16 offers users a straightforward interface with essential audio and video settings. However, the game does not currently have any Steam achievements or trading cards.
