This week, we have news about a demo for survival sandbox farming game Delverium, updates for Planet Coaster 2 and a second chapter to the Cryptic Killer Series. Free DLC for 8-Bit Adventures 2, a massive expansion for Lil Gator Game and Nintendo Switch 2 is announced. Stars in the Trash is Deck Verified, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain has a full release, chaotic fun with Grandma No!, spatial puzzle RPG Mirage: Ignis Fatuus and 7’scarlet can be pre-ordered.
Demo for Survival Sandbox Farming Game Delverium
Brisbane-based Sagestone Games has announced that the Steam demo for their upcoming open-world survival craft game, Delverium, will launch on February 7th. This demo release is set to coincide with the Steam Couch Co-Op Fest, offering players a chance to get an early look at the game.
Delverium is a survival sandbox farming game that supports 1-4 players. In it, you’ll explore a vast procedurally generated world, gathering resources, building shelters, tending your farm, and even recruiting NPCs to aid you. For the daring, there’s the option to dive into high-risk dungeon crawling to uncover the secrets of the world as well.
Updates for Planet Coaster 2
Planet Coaster 2 has presented its Spring Roadmap, starting with Update 2 which will arrive in February. It will feature:
- Custom video billboards
- Custom speakers
- Synchronised coasters
- Interchangeable coaster cars
- Notification settings (on/off)
- Rides: Stock coasters
- Returning flat ride: Pathos III
There are also some adjustments and enhancements:
- Guest navigation
- Multi-select
- Notifications
- Ongoing guest, economy and management enhancements
- Ongoing stability and performance enhancements
The list in the screenshot below is non-exhaustive, and they are continuing to investigate crash and bug reports to address these as quickly as possible.
Second Chapter Cryptic Killer Series
Parallel Experiment, a 2-player cooperative puzzle game, is set to launch on March 6th, 2025. This title is the second standalone chapter in the Cryptic Killer series, following Unboxing the Cryptic Killer. It brings detectives Old Dog and Ally back into action as they race to stop the infamous Cryptic Killer’s latest scheme: the Parallel Experiment.
Drawing inspiration from games like We Were Here and The Past Within, Parallel Experiment features 2D comic-book-style graphics and an X-Files-inspired story, offering over 10 hours of gameplay. Each player will need their own copy of the game, available on mobile, tablet, PC, or Mac, and both an internet connection and voice communication are essential. If you’re searching for a co-op partner, you can join the game’s community to find a Player Two!
In this adventure, you and your teammate must solve puzzles from separate perspectives, combining your halves of each clue to progress. There is a demo available on Steam if you want to give it a try!
Free DLC for 8-Bit Adventures 2
After debuting on consoles in October, 8-Bit Adventures 2 – a story-rich tribute to the Golden Age of JRPGs – is launching major Free DLC on January 15th as a ‘thank you’ to players. This new content adds a brand new post-game dungeon accessible after finishing the main story.
When James reviewed the game, he wrote in conclusion:
“8-Bit Adventures 2 is easily my favourite RPG surprise of the year. Going in, I expected another formulaic RPG Maker project, but instead, I was met with a heartfelt plot and deep, engaging gameplay. I absolutely recommend this game for fans of the genre, but even newcomers will find it welcoming while still offering a satisfying challenge. If you’re looking for your next long-term game project, look no further.”
Massive Expansion Lil Gator Game
Publisher Playtonic Friends and developer MegaWobble have announced Lil Gator Game: In the Dark, a massive expansion for the Lil Gator Game. This update will double the size of the game, adding plenty of new characters, caves, and crevices to explore. With a fun underground theme, you’ll uncover hidden adventures and make new friends in every corner.
Mina reviewed the base game and gave it Two Thumbs Up, writing in conclusion:
“Lil Gator Game, along with the host of other cozy indie games I’ve played and loved, are unique and special experiences that I’m glad I got to have. There is a lot of love in Lil Gator Game, and I can’t wait to see what this dev has in store for us next.”
You could say Mina got her wish, she gets to see what else is in store! The expansion is currently in development for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch.
If you’re new to Lil Gator Game, this might be interesting: The Gator of the Year Edition will bundle the base game with the In the Dark expansion, offering the complete experience in one package. The special edition will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch alongside the expansion.
Nintendo Switch 2 is Announced
After days of speculation in the press and rumours flying about, the Switch 2 has officially been announced. Here is the reveal trailer.
We will get more information in the Nintendo Direct on April 2nd. So, it seems we will have a while longer to wait for the actual release.
Stars in the Trash is Deck Verified
As a handheld gaming lover myself, I was happy to see the news that Stars in the Trash is now Steam Deck verified!
Our cat lover Mina loved the game when she reviewed it, saying in conclusion:
“Overall, I had tons of fun with Stars in the Trash. If you like things like the Aristocats or The Fox and the Hound, I think you will love this game. There are so many details, such as beautiful art and loving care and taking in every detail, that I think anyone who loves animals will dig this game. As I said in my preview of the Stars in the Trash demo, it feels like playing a Disney movie. Now that I’ve played the whole thing, it feels even more like that. I love this game a lot, and I think most of you will love it too.”
Mika and the Witch’s Mountain Full Release
Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is ready to take flight with its full release on January 22nd! The delivery witch adventure will be available on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
Originally inspired by Kiki’s Delivery Service, the game launched in Early Access last August on Steam and Nintendo Switch (read Lynne’s review here), to positive feedback from players.

7’scarlet Can Be Pre-Ordered
Aksys Games today announced that pre-orders have opened for 7’scarlet, the highly anticipated otome adventure coming to Nintendo Switch™ this spring. A special edition of the game with a diorama featuring the chibi versions of the characters will be available exclusively from the Aksys Online Store.
In 7’scarlet, players take on the role of a young woman journeying to the remote town of Okunezato to locate her missing brother. Shaped like a crescent moon, Okunezato is shrouded in dark myths and legends. Spatial Puzzle RPG Mirage: Ignis Fatuus
Mirage: Ignis Fatuus, a 3D spatial puzzle RPG from indie developer Illam Software, is set to launch on April 18th, 2025, for PC and Nintendo Switch. In this mind-bending adventure, you’ll play as the mysterious Kyuboy’d, navigating the crumbling Mirage, the City of Illusions, through clever perspective-shifting puzzles and unravelling its secrets.
Each level in Mirage: Ignis Fatuus can be viewed from four angles, encouraging you to think creatively as you manipulate the environment to solve intricate puzzles. The game’s minimalist art style enhances the dynamic, walkable landscapes, while RPG elements such as inventory management and player-driven choices add depth to your journey.
