I really liked the game when I reviewed it a while back on Switch, really worth the price now! And if you go for it, check out our Guide to get you started.

Word Based Encounter System in Leximan
Get ready to enrol in the world’s most exclusive magic school, Academy Elementinia, in the upcoming game Leximan. Developed by Knights of Borria and published by Marvelous Europe, this unique adventure game launches on Windows PC on August 13, 2024.
In Leximan, you play as a wizard with the extraordinary ability to use Leximancy, a special magic driven by language. Despite your magical prowess, you’ve been banished to the school’s basement due to some past magical mishaps. However, your life takes a turn when Academy Elementinia is attacked, giving you a chance to use your skills to save the school—or cause more magical chaos!
The game features a unique word-based encounter system where you cast spells by forming words. It promises a wholesome story about self-acceptance, mixed with humorous elements like kicking a trout. With various puzzles, mini-games, and countless ways to play, Leximan encourages you to succeed in your own quirky style.
You’ll explore magical wilds, navigate wizard-hating cities, and encounter a chaotic cast of characters, including potion witches, musclemancers, and more. Plus, you can collect and give hats to hat goblins! Sounds very special!

Wildermyth Console Edition Announced
Wildermyth: Console Edition is launching on October 20th, bringing its character-driven, procedurally generated turn-based tactical RPG action to consoles. This game places your characters at the heart of the story, leading a band of farmers turned heroes through encounters that shape their appearances, abilities, and personal narratives.
Inspired by tabletop roleplaying games, Wildermyth features a richly layered papercraft world, reminiscent of a fairytale pop-up book. It breaks away from traditional fantasy tropes, introducing unique creatures like telepathic insect dragons and clockwork undead chimeras.
As characters age or die, their legacy continues through their children, forming new heroes for future campaigns. Favourite heroes can join a legendary pantheon, ready for future playthroughs.
The console edition will have a redesigned UI and controls tailored for gamepads, making for better readability and intuitive gameplay. It also introduces two exclusive features: the Monster Compendium, an in-game tome with detailed enemy and faction lore, and local cooperative multiplayer, where players can share the unfolding story by commanding multiple characters.
Wildermyth: Console Edition will be available digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. If you want the physical edition (for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 and 5), this will include the Monster Compendium and an ‘Off-hand Item Skin Pack’ DLC featuring torches, shields, and more.

Soundtrack Botany Manor
Have you already wandered the grounds of Arabella Greene’s estate and basked in the tranquil music and sights of her magnificent garden? In the plant puzzle game, Botany Manor you can do so at your leisure. To help you along, we even have a guide handy.
Nice that you will be able to listen to the melodic music from the game anytime you like, as the official Botany Manor soundtrack will be available on Steam on August 15! Composed by the talented Thomas Williams (Assemble With Care; Ordia), the soundtrack will be available on Steam for $5.99 USD, and as part of the Botany Manor Soundtrack Bundle, which includes both the soundtrack and base game at a 10% discount.

Magical Delicacy on Switch
We loved Magical Delicacy and gave it our highest rating of Two Thumbs Up. Kalina concluded her review by saying “Magical Delicacy is easily one of my best games this year. I can’t think of anything big that I didn’t like, and I look forward to playing it again.” So if you wanted this game but were waiting for the Switch review: the release date is August 15!

Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid Localized
A game that seems to come to Switch out of nowhere for me is Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid. A year ago, the game was released in Japan, and now it’s coming to my favourite console on August 5th. It even comes with extra DLC called Broadcast over Sunset which isn’t free, by the way. The description of Natsu-Mon piqued my interest:
“Experience a magical summer in Yomogi Town, a charming rural village in Japan nestled between mountains and the sea. As the son of the circus ringmaster, you’ll embark on a season full of adventures and unforgettable memories.
Explore the open world of Yomogi Town and its beautiful natural surroundings. Lose yourself in the nostalgic scenery of towering clouds, stunning sunsets, and the soothing sound of cicadas. Each day brings new activities like fishing in the river or catching rare bugs in the fields. You’ll also have the chance to help the circus thrive and bond with the friendly townspeople.
Don’t miss the vibrant summer festival, complete with dancing and spectacular fireworks. You can even hop on a train to explore a neighbouring town. Get ready for your own special summer vacation, packed with unique experiences and endless fun!”
The DLC will add a new area called Sunset Island and new characters and events. I will surely check out the free demo on Switch to see what kind of vibe the game has! The game and the DLC are out on Steam already.

Gardening Game Horticular
For a few weeks now, Horticular has been out on Steam. We haven’t had a chance yet to review the game, but our team picked it up anyway. We like what we see, this is a gardening game that might have the potential of Viva Pinata! The reviews on Steam are very positive too.
Here’s the description from the Steam page:
“Horticular is a relaxing garden-builder that begins with mysterious gnomes summoning you. Their wish? For you to breathe new life into a long-lost garden, abandoned by its previous caretaker.
Enter a magical world where you build up and expand a lush garden at your own pace. In your journey, you attract adorable animals to inhabit every corner; uncover helpful upgrades; and assist quirky characters for rewards and story development—all while juggling decay and fending off corruption sent by your nemesis!”
