It’s time to take a look at the upcoming Switch games that are being newly released on our favourite handheld, the Nintendo Switch. Plus, we also feature Upcoming Steam games for those of you who prefer gaming on Steam!

Not all games to be released are on the list here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking notice of these games. You can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Nintendo website.
Star Wars Bounty Hunter – August 1st
In this classic third-person action-adventure, you’ll become Jango Fett, Prime Clone of the Grand Army of the Republic, hired to capture a deranged Dark Jedi.
Experience the legendary Bounty Hunter fantasy set before the events of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. Face off against foes and manoeuvre through acrobatic battles in this adaption optimized for today’s consoles and hardware.
Fight your way through the galaxy’s underbelly, equipped with Dual Blasters, your Flamethrower, Whipcord, and pure Mandalorian Rage.

Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid – August 5th
A circus troupe comes to Yomogi Town, a rural town in Japan situated between mountains and the ocean. As the son of the circus ringmaster, enjoy a special summer filled with adventures!
All of Yomogi Town and the nature surrounding it are an open world where you can enjoy summer to its fullest. Immerse yourself in nostalgic scenery filled with towering clouds, beautiful sunsets, and the sound of cicadas.
Summer days are always filled with activities like fishing at the river or catching rare bugs in a field. Help the circus succeed and interact with the townspeople if you’d like. Enjoy a night at the summer festival, dancing and watching fireworks. There’s even a train so you can visit a neighbouring town. Your own special summer vacation filled with unique experiences awaits!
I reviewed the game and had a lot of fun with the game. Here’s my conclusion:
Not knowing what to expect and then finding a gem is the best feeling for me. Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid is the perfect game to bring back memories of the lazy summer days of my youth when the vacation seemed to stretch endlessly with little adventures and good friends. Exploration is what makes this game great for me; there is so much to discover. The visuals, voice acting and sounds make this a very immersive adventure. And with the DLC already available, I can extend my adventure even more!
Cat Quest III – August 8th
Get whiskered away on a hearty catventure in Cat Quest III, the third installment in the award-winning Cat Quest series!
Play as a swashbuckling purrivateer in this 2.5D open-world action RPG set in a fantastical pirate-themed world – the Purribean – an archipelago swarming with Pi-rats searching for the Northern Star – a long-lost mythical treasure. Alongside your trusty spirit companion, set sail through the Purribean in your very own ship! But beware, the seas are dangerous, and a meow-tiny is nigh as the hordes of Pi-rats under the order of the Pirate King hunt you down.
Steamworld Heist II – August 8th
Aim, plot, and plunder in this uproarious Steambot adventure! All is not well on the waves; a crisis is brewing. A water crisis! Mysteriously, this precious resource has turned deadly, corroding metal limbs and mechanical hearts.
Take charge as Captain Leeway, joined by his ragtag crew of Steambots, to uncover the enigmatic menace threatening the Great Sea.
Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery – August 13th
Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery is a cozy hidden object game that has you searching for hidden objects in hand-drawn, interactive landscapes. Ignite your imagination, unleash your inner artist with the editor and share your masterpieces with the world!
Dive into three captivating eras: Victorian elegance, Noir mystery, and Sci-fi wonder. Test your keen eye and unravel the mysteries hidden within each intricate scene. Can you uncover every secret the past (and future) holds?
Paula enjoyed the game a lot, and wrote in her conclusion:
Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery is a lovely hidden object game that offers a blend of relaxation and challenge. Its beautifully drawn scenes, calming music, and engaging gameplay make it fun to play. If you have played the previous games in the series, you will most likely enjoy Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery and feel right at home, as the gameplay is similar to the previous one.
Magical Delicacy – August 15th
A wholesome pixel art platformer. Cook magical delicacies from a vast collection of ingredients in your own shop.
Play the young witch Flora and discover a bustling town in this Metroidvania-inspired, wholesome cooking game. Cook meals and potions in your customized kitchen by carefully selecting the right ingredients. Navigate the town in casual platforming to meet the townsfolk, take up their orders, and learn about this world of magic.
Kalina reviewed the game and gave it her highest rating, saying:
Magical Delicacy is easily one of my best games this year. I can’t think of anything big that I didn’t like, and I look forward to playing it again.
Elrentaros Wanderings – August 16th
Introducing the all-new action RPG Elrentaros Wanderings. Elrebtaros is a hinterland town far from the Melvanian capital. Visiting on a journey, you mingle with the colourful locals and embark on a quest to find ways to help them.
But your adventure takes a sudden turn when a strange light surrounds you, and you wake in a different realm. Could this be the real universe? Unravel the secret of the two worlds!
Margaret checked the game out, but was left in doubt, saying:
I’m not going to give this game our worst score; it runs well, and as I say, it will find a few players who wanted something like the equally streamlined Snack World, without its particular twee nonsense. But as a full-price game with a pedigree that used to bring hope and cheer to its audience, I am genuinely disappointed with the results.
Castaway – August 16th
Embark on an action-packed adventure in Castaway, diving players into a pixelated and retro universe. Assume the role of Martin, whose spaceship crash-landed on an uncharted island where hostile creatures took his faithful pet. Retrieve your weapons and venture out to rescue your kidnapped companion in this endearing and unexpectedly dynamic world.
Beat the three bosses in the concise and delightful “Story Mode” to unlock the thrilling and addictive “Survivor Mode.” Ascend a 50-floor tower, with each level presenting increasingly challenging trials!

Castaway may be short and may not bring much new to the table in terms of gameplay, but it has a lot of charm. From its nostalgic pixel design to its variety of difficulty settings, Castaway offers a pleasant gaming experience perfect for a warm summer weekend. Whether you’re playing alone or sharing the game with a younger player, the adventure feels worthwhile despite its brevity. Here’s hoping the game finds an audience so we can see more from this developer in the future.
Mika and The Witch’s Mountain – August 20th
Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is a fantasy adventure about an aspiring witch who delivers packages to the townspeople of a small island. Explore every nook and cranny and soar through the sky with your magic broom.
This coming-of-age journey will take us to the top of the mountain through a story of effort, friendship, and community and will let our hearts fly free.
Lynne liked the game, saying in conclusion:
Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is a short adventure, about flying around on a broomstick, delivering parcels.
At times, I found controlling the broomstick a bit frustrating, and this did impact on my overall enjoyment. However, the scenery is great, with bright colours and a diverse landscape, and the ability to see all of this from the air enhances the experience.
Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story – August 27
A management game created by Kairosoft, a company popular for its simulation games. Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story is a game where you run a sweets shop with the popular manga character Doraemon. Let’s make Doraemon’s favourite dorayaki and create a store that will be the talk of the town.
First, make the sweets, set up the shelves, prepare the tables, and get ready to run the shop! In addition, various characters from Fujiko・F・Fujio’s works will appear as customers! Many characters will visit, including T・P BON and Kiteretsu Encyclopedia.
During your adventure to find ingredients, you will encounter many difficulties. Even in such a situation, Doraemon’s secret gadgets will help you solve difficult problems without any difficulty!
