Nintendo has released a free demo for Tomodachi Life: Where Dreams Come True – Welcome Version, which is now available in the Nintendo eShop. The full game launches on April 16 for Nintendo Switch, and both the demo and full release will also be playable on Nintendo Switch 2.
The Welcome Version lets players create up to three Mii characters and drop them onto a lively island where drama, romance, and wonderfully weird surprises unfold at lightning speed. It’s a bite‑sized preview of the full experience and of course, your Miis will immediately start doing bizarre, hilarious, and occasionally heartfelt things.
In Tomodachi Life: Where Dreams Come True you can create Miis based on anyone you like, shaping everything from their quirks to their living spaces, then watching them wander around an island where the odd and unexpected seem to be the norm. I loved it when I played the game on my 3DS, and enjoyed bringing the Mii of my family members and friends into the game. I even paid homage to my deceased father. So it’s great Nintendo is bringing us a Switch version!
Progress made in the demo can be transferred to the full game once it launches. As a bonus, completing the demo rewards you with a Hamster Set in a random colour for your Mii’s (though you’ll eventually be able to get the Hamster Set in the full game too without playing the demo).
Nintendo also released a new gameplay trailer!
