Dinkum on Switch 2 and The Great Bite Expands the Outback on Steam

Dinkum’s Nintendo Switch 2 edition is out now, arriving with a free upgrade for existing Switch owners and full parity with the Animal Tracks update. Meanwhile, Steam players get The Great Bite, a major anniversary update that opens up a new island, fresh exploration tools, and a limited‑time event.

Switch 2 Launch + Free Upgrade

Dinkum has officially rolled out on Nintendo Switch 2, with KRAFTON confirming that anyone who already owns the original Switch version can move over at no extra cost. Creator James Bendon called the release “incredibly meaningful,” noting how he grew up playing Nintendo games, a detail that gives the launch a personal edge.

The Switch and Switch 2 versions now include the Animal Tracks update, bringing them in line with the Steam build.

Steam Anniversary Update: The Great Bite

On Steam, the game marks its first anniversary with The Great Bite, a sizeable update built around a brand‑new island. This island introduces climbable cliffs, new plant life, and varied terrain, opening up new ways to explore the world of Dinkum. Players can also restore scattered lighthouses to reveal nearby treasure on the map.

The update also adds new decorative items, collectibles, and vehicles, along with several quality-of-life and customization features. A new Servo feature allows players to summon vehicles from anywhere, while new facial accessories and the Swag Pack customisation system offer even more ways to personalize characters.

Anniversary Event + Discounts

Through the 7th of May, Steam players who sell fish to John’s Goods earn commemorative tickets that can be traded for exclusive items.

A 20% discount is running across Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
