Adventure with Stuffy and Glitch
Now there’s a game that seems to be right up my ally!
Woven is a puzzle adventure game in which you explore a seemingly safe world that is made out of wool, where stuffed animals live. The world of Woven is filled with obstacles, challenges, setbacks and secret paths.
You are Stuffy, a stuffed elephant. Glitch, a metal insect who has no idea how he came to be, is Stuffy’s partner in crime. Glitch sees hidden secrets that a stuffed animal could never see. Together you must explore and solve puzzles to find out what the new metal bad guys in the world are up to.
The game is developed by Alterego Games, and they have recently paired up with StickyLock Studios who will publish the game. Both are Dutch companies, so, being a Dutch lady myself, you can understand this got my interest!
Woven has been in development for quite some time. Alterego didn’t sit back even after their Kickstarter in 2016 failed to fund. They’ve kept developing steadily but slowly. For them, 2019 is THE year. A release on Steam will be first, and the game is confirmed now too for Xbox, PS4 and Switch!
Get ready for extreme cuteness
This is what you can expect in the game: Woven lets you puzzle and explore your way through a rhyming story by changing the body parts of your hopelessly clumsy main character.
More specifically: Stuffy will face a lot of obstacles and sometimes his heavy elephant feet or clumsy arms simply won’t be able help you. You will have to find the blueprints of different animal shapes, and re-knit Stuffy into different shapes so he can overcome the obstacles. (Check the knitting machine in the trailer, it looks so good! )
Elephant legs may be strong, but rabbit legs would allow you to jump! Finding and combining the right blueprints is a major part of gameplay in Woven. The game has been laced with a fully voiced narrator that guides the player through the story about the hidden danger to the woolen world.
