Game of the Month August

The month of August was a holiday month for me. And like happens every single time that I’m off on a vacation, gaming takes a backseat. I did take my American 3DS with me with every intention of putting some hours in during my flight. I mean, we had 18 hours to spend in an airplane, flying from Amsterdam to Honolulu. And all the hours in between, waiting at various airports! Plus back again at the end of the month.

I did give Ever Oasis a try on the first flight, but I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe it was because I was missing Breath of the Wild as I had decided to leave the Switch at home. Or maybe holidays and gaming just don’t go together very well. I must confess the device hardly saw the light of day after that first time. It sat patiently in the hotel safe, waiting for better times!

While lounging at the pool however, I got the reminder that Egglia, the Legend of the Redcap was due in the iOS store. And as it looked good I decided to download it to my iPad, I didn’t regret the EUR 9,99 I put into it. As I wrote in my review (read it here) it does have some flaws, but it kept me occupied in short bursts.

I like the sim part of the game, like the questing part too, even though I’ve been frustrated at how hard the game quickly gets . I’ve seen the Game Over screen quite a lot of times, but still I kept trying. The storylines are great, the dialogue is funny and the world is detailed and colorful. This is the ideal game to play in at the pool, or during your lunch break.

So even if it’s the only game I played, I can honestly say it’s my game of the Month August! It will always be linked to that holiday in Hawaii! So tell me, what was the game you enjoyed most in August?

    1. Wow, you’re really into it then! I’m glad, as I’ve already had two gaming stints in that game, and I still see myself going back into it when the mood takes me again. Such a great game!

  1. Ever Oasis didn’t grip me (demo) so I decided to pass it by. So many great games coming out!
I am very keen to try Egglia as I love that Mana look and feel.
