Come on in, get yourself a nice cup of coffee or tea and pull up a chair.
Another week has gone by, we are rushing towards the end of the year. Are you super busy too with everything that needs doing before the Holidays? I know I am!
But, there’s always time to check out some gaming news!
Fantasy Fair in Fashion Dreamer Suspended
The Free Winter Collection Update has gone live in Fashion Dreamer this week, but the limited-time Fantasy Fair has been suspended. Soon after the update, Marvelous discovered an issue in the event that allowed players to repeatedly earn rewards under certain conditions. So, the event is temporarily suspended because of that. Marvelous is working on the new version, 1.2.1. where this will be fixed.
Suika Game Trial for Free
There’s another game trial live for Nintendo Switch Online members. Until December 11th you can play Suika Game for free and give it a try! Though the game won’t cost you an arm and a leg anyway in the eShop ($2.99), it’s nice to see if it’s one you’ll like.
Suika means watermelon in Japanese, and the entire game is all about fruit. In the game, various kinds of fruit fall from above, and it’s up to you to try to combine them. Eventually, the goal is to combine them into a watermelon. Simple and addictive!
Watch Over Christmas
There aren’t many games that are entirely about Christmas, so we want to give Watch Over Christmas a bit of attention. Released a year ago, the game is now available on Steam, GOG, Epic Store, Switch, PS4/5, and Xbox Series X|S/One at $16.99 USD.
Paula reviewed the Steam version and wrote this in her conclusion:
Watch over Christmas is a delightful point and click game. The lack of voice acting is noticeable but once that’s added it will give the game that extra pizzazz that the game is lacking at the moment. You certainly get your money’s worth in regards to the length of the game, it is a long one. With plenty of puzzles to complete and lots of quirky characters to meet it is an enjoyable game.
Snowman Story on Steam
Can you imagine that the ultimate wish for a snowman is not to melt when Spring comes? Snowman Story is based on that wish, as he will take control of Chris the Snowman. You travel to a fabled land in the far north, which is said to be a paradise where his kind will be able to survive.
Along the way, he will encounter a whole host of woodland critters who will guide him on his way and offer assistance with the game’s icy puzzle stages. He’ll also follow in the footsteps of other fallen snowmen, each with their own tragic tale to tell of how they tried and failed to make the same pilgrimage. By reading memories from their remains and hearing their cautionary tales, we can only hope Chris might be able to meet the same fate.
Snowman Story is expected on December 14th on Steam on Windows and MacOS.

During the Wholesome Snack Showcase this week, Chucklefish and Pixpil announced that Eastward: Octopia, a DLC expansion for Eastward, will arrive for PC and Nintendo Switch on 31 January.
Set in the Eastward world, this DLC sees Sam and John take up the idyllic farming life where they’ll tend to animals, grow their own food, cook for friends, and rebuild a cosy town into a thriving colourful community.
Dredge x Dave the Diver Free Update
Dave the Diver’s adventure is about to get a boost with fresh gameplay, quests, creatures, and innovations from DREDGE. This FREE update is set to launch next week, bringing two communities together. We hope you’re ready to spread the news!
Now, Dave can navigate his boat to various dive spots, just like players can in DREDGE. There, he’ll encounter the extraordinary and sometimes ferocious Aberrations, providing materials for brand-new gear and new dishes.
