Henry Halfhead is a cute, humorous little puzzle game. You play as Henry, a person who is just half a head, and jump with him from object to object à la Super Mario Odyssey.
The Story and Gameplay of Henry Halfhead
At the beginning of Henry Halfhead, you are a baby. Your parents have finally gone to sleep, and you get out of your crib easily by jumping into and becoming different objects. Each object you jump into has a different interaction with the world; for example, you can jump inside some scissors to cut ribbons on presents, jump inside a watering can in order to pour water over flowers, and even become an apple tree to feel what it’s like to have roots and get your food from the sun.

Over the course of the game, Henry grows up and starts exploring the world, first through school, then work. You become a pencil to write down the answers to math problems. You become packages to dump them down the package slot at work. You become the microwave to cook a quick meal for yourself after work.

The story of Henry Halfhead is about growing up, but still keeping in touch with all those things that gave you joy as a child. It’s about enjoying the time you have left, and not making everything about work or school. It’s about finding small joys in everyday things, like painting, drawing, connecting with friends, cooking, and even doing laundry.

This Year’s Cutest Game
Henry Halfhead is about three hours long, and it features both single-player and co-op modes. The two-player version of the game is couch co-op, so you can play with friends in the same room. The controls are simple enough that you could have a child play with you, and everything is spoken out loud in voiceover, so it can even be used with children who aren’t great at reading yet.

As you interact with the different books in the game, it gives you fun, real-life trivia about our world. You get to draw little pictures with a pencil, fold yourself up as a piece of paper, shake up and explode cans of soda, possess your stuffed animals and make animal noises, as well as a whole lot more. There was so much to do in this little game that I ended up wasting a lot of time wandering around and trying to interact with everything that I could.

The style is so cute and cuddly that I never wanted my time with Henry Halfhead to end.
Not a Single Complaint
Henry Halfhead is one of those passion projects that you can feel the love pouring out of every pixel. I didn’t experience any problems or bugs, and my time spent in the world was amazing. It’s so cute, so silly, and so full of little jokes that I found myself giggling. Each of the objects you possess has unique things it can do and unique interactions with the spaces around it. For example, if you hop into the watering can, it’s a lot heavier when it’s full of water, so you can’t jump as high. The bowling ball rolls really fast, you can slip across an surface at top speed as a bar of soap, and you can sway and shake off your leaves as a tree.

Every minute I spent in the world was an absolute blast, and I would recommend this goofy game to anyone who deeply loves goofy games.

Conclusion
In my opinion, Henry Halfhead is perfect. It has the same colorful, cartoon vibe as games like Wattam and Fruitbus while being something unique. I adore this game, and I hope you have the time to experience Henry Halfhead for yourself!
Final Verdict: Two Thumbs Up:
