Welcome to another edition of Gaming Tales. If you like these random thoughts, check out our other Gaming Tales, Paula’s Game Ramblings and YvoCaro Plays.
For this Gaming Tales with Lynne, I’ve been inspired by the FIFA World Cup, but perhaps not in the way you think!
Gaming Tales with Lynne: The Tale of the Football
Oh no! I’ve started to go football crazy.
Although, you might think it’s kinda lazy,
As I’m not on a pitch, or a similar scene,
But watching the action on a TV screen.
I’m not talking Messi, Ronaldo or Kane,
Or any of those in the World Cup campaign.
The action is brief, and my players are few,
A mini-game, a little extra to do.

First is a cat, more like, a Little Kitty,
Who lives and plays in a fairly Big City,
With four nets and four balls all scattered about,
Match colours and score a cat-chievement shout-out.

Then next, Tiny Terry is aiming to score,
To gain lots of turbo junk, helping him soar
Right up to the skies, to the stars and the moon,
On a Turbo Trip journey, one afternoon.

Better with friends, or the goals are too easy,
A wibbly Wobbly Life can seem queasy.
But pushing the ball to the net is good fun,
Even without a real team to outrun.

Now Pine Hearts is truly a beautiful place,
But crows have invaded the footballing space,
Go find an apt mask that will shoo them away,
Thus allowing the team to go on and play.

What happens, you cry, when the ref calls a “Foul”?
With Duck on my Side (of the Moon), you mean “fowl!”
And an Untitled Goose will honk and exclaim,
“I want to join in with the beautiful Game.”
There are so many games with a football twist,
How many of these would form part of your list?
Let’s celebrate with joy, the games that have goals,
And relish the mini-games we play on consoles!
