Even before its release, Hela: Of Mice & Magic was being recognised as something special, and won “Most Entertaining” and “Most Wholesome” at the Gamescom Awards 2025. A year later, its release date has been confirmed as 1st December, when it will pitter-patter onto Nintendo Switch 2, PC (via the Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation, and Xbox.
The snippet in the Nintendo Direct revealed the release date, and strongly leaned into the game’s cooperative nature. While you can play co-op (locally via split-screen or online), Hela: Of Mice & Magic caters to solo players as well. The developers have created a Shade System, a magical echo that activates switches and helps with other shared activities.
In Hela: Of Mice & Magic you play as a brave little mouse serving as the familiar of a kind witch, and together you support the local village. To restore harmony, you’ll need to gather precious ingredients and concoct potions. These mixtures can also be used to boost your abilities, grant new skills, and assist in further exploration and puzzle-solving in this enchanting, handcrafted world.
Hela: Of Mice & Magic Harmony Edition
In addition to the digital versions, a limited “Harmony Edition” in physical format will be available for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The team at Knights Peak PR has teamed up with Microids to release this exclusive pack, which will allow fans to immerse themselves further into the beautiful world of Hela: Of Mice & Magic. The collector’s pack will contain the base game, a digital download of the soundtrack, a 48-page art book showing never-before-seen sketches, a reversible poster, and a set of exclusive stickers.
