Quilts and Cats of Calico out on Xbox and PS5
Mina loved Quilts and Cats of Calico when she reviewed the game on Steam and gave it our highest rating. So, it’s great news that the game is now out on Xbox and PlayStation 5 as well (and already was out on Switch). So, if one of those consoles has your preference, you can now also play this great puzzle game that combines quilting and sewing with a love of felines.
Good Coffee, Great Coffee on Mobile
If you like management games, Good Coffee, Great Coffee might be for you when it releases on February 27th on iOS and Android. This story-driven café business simulator lets you build and manage your coffee shop, master difficult orders, upgrade equipment, and experiment with bold new ingredients. With a mix of time management and puzzle-solving mechanics, you’ll face off against rival Brewists in a city obsessed with caffeine.
You can personalize your café with cosy decorations and craft coffee drinks using 14 different toppings. As you progress, you’ll meet a cast of quirky characters, some ready to help and others challenging you to intense coffee-making showdowns. The Side Stories feature lets you befriend locals, complete quests, and earn rewards to grow your business.
Chapter 1, which is free, sets the stage in bustling Coffee City, where every new café must pass a rigorous trial under the watchful eye of the World Coffee Association. The next chapters, Good Coffee and Great Coffee, have in-app purchases.
New Demo for Camper Van: Make it Home
Malapata Studio’s camper van game Camper Van: Make it Home has a brand new demo ahead of the Steam Next Fest in February. The 40-minute demo features the workshop system, more customization items, more van colours, a new UI, and more gameplay.
And that’s good news, as even based on the first demo Mina played in June of 2024, her thoughts on the game were very positive. She wrote:
“What the demo shows for Camper Van: Make It Home is gorgeous. It’s soothing, beautiful, relaxing, unhurried, and you can basically do whatever you want with your new stuff. It’s a wonderful little demo of a game, and it only has me more excited for the full release. I can’t wait to customize my own camper and have a lot more items to choose from. But the demo is a wonderful proof of concept, and I am blown away by how close to the Kickstarter concept art it ended up being.”
Demo for Ruffy and the Riverside Available
Ruffy and the Riverside is an upcoming collectable 3D platformer set to release in April 2025 on PC and modern consoles. Our James really liked the demo and gave us a very positive first impression:
“By the time I finished the demo, Ruffy and the Riverside had left a big smile on my face. The most compelling aspect is undoubtedly the SWAP mechanic, which adds a fresh layer of creativity to the classic 3D platforming formula. But beyond that, what stuck with me most was just how warm and uplifting the experience felt.
This game welcomes players of all ages, offering a fun, family-friendly adventure packed with charm, creativity, and nostalgia. With its innovative mechanics, delightful presentation, and positive energy, Ruffy and the Riverside has the potential to be something very special when it releases in April.”
The demo is now available on Steam, so you can give it a try. Ultimately, Ruffy and the Riverside will launch on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
Major Update Planet Coaster 2
Planet Coaster 2 is getting a major update on Thursday, February 13th, packed with new features and improvements to help you build even more exciting parks.
When Paula reviewed Planet Coaster 2 in November last year, she wrote in her conclusion:
“Overall, Planet Coaster 2 builds on everything fans loved about the original while adding new layers of creativity and depth. After a few more updates to fine-tune the game and controls, it will be a worthy successor to Planet Coaster.
For me and many players, the game shines as a sandbox for your imagination, allowing you to craft the theme park of your dreams with an overwhelming array of tools and options.”
So I guess she got her wish. With this update that introduces video billboards for all players, if you’re on PC, you’ll also be able to customize them with your own content and add custom audio to speakers. Ride customization is expanding, too. You can now synchronize coasters for dramatic sequences, swap certain coaster cars between rides, and access de-themed versions of the Zephyr – Junior Coaster and Valais & Nidwalden – Wing Coaster for full creative control. Fans of the original Planet Coaster will also be happy to see the return of the classic flat ride Pathos III.
Time to Morp Launching into Version 1.0
After a successful year in Early Access, Time to Morp is officially launching into version 1.0 on March 6, 2025. This creature-collecting and colony-sim hybrid invites you to explore vibrant biomes, befriend adorable Morps, and build the ultimate base. And you can do this solo or with up to three friends.
The full release brings a lot of new content, including fresh recipes, quests, and activities, alongside quality-of-life improvements and updated visuals. Morps aren’t just cute, they are also very useful. They will help you gather resources, automate tasks, and uncover the mysteries of their colourful world. With a mix of crafting, cooking, fishing, and city-building, there’s plenty to keep you busy as you work to save the planet together with your Morps.
Nif Nif Has a Release Date
Roguelike deck-builder Nif Nif is set to launch on Steam on April 1st for $19.99/€19,99. Developed by Hong Kong-based indie studio Springfox Games, Nif Nif follows the adventures of Nif Nif and Cat as they battle the evil Goo threatening the forest. Using card-based mechanics, you’ll clean up the contamination, explore procedurally generated maps, and face off against powerful bosses.
Designed with a neurodivergent-friendly approach, Nif Nif was inspired by the developer’s autistic son and aims to create a non-violent, welcoming space for kids to learn and explore while promoting friendship and environmental care.
Ahead of its release, a new demo is available, featuring fresh final bosses, unlockable card variants, new hats, a playable character, and mini-games. Margaret checked out the first demo in the Summer of 2024 and felt that it already showed a lot of polish and promise!
New Demo For Spray Paint Simulator
A new demo for Spray Paint Simulator is now available on Steam. For the first time, multiplayer is included, letting you team up with a friend in Free Spray Mode to paint the town (or each other).
This updated demo removes time limits, making the game more relaxing and having no-pressure gameplay. Plus, a new Career Mode level has been added, Tony’s kitchen, where you’ll help freshen up the space before his son’s birthday. Free Spray Mode also now includes both career levels, giving you more chances to uncover hidden secrets tucked away in rooftops, under doormats, and beyond.
