100 Hidden Cthulhu Fish is a clicker hidden object game in which you are tasked with finding 100 hidden Cthulhu’s within various scenes.

Lovecraftian Horror

I love hidden object games—well, apart from when I have one last object to find, and it eludes me. Then I can be heard cursing under my breath, with audible sighs thrown in. I also love the Lovecraft universe. So much so that the Arkham Horror: LCG is one of my favourite living card games. 100 Hidden Cthulhu Fish is loosely based on Lovecraftian lore.

For anyone not familiar with Cthulhu (where have you been?!) Cthulhu is a cosmic entity depicted as a green octopus, dragon and human caricature hybrid.

Gotta find them all

A Different Theme

As someone who plays a lot of hidden object games, it was so refreshing to see a different theme for the genre. Don’t get me wrong: I love the 100 Hidden Cats in…series, but I also like trying new things. 100 Hidden Cthulhu Fish took a genre that has an overabundance of cuteness and whimsy and turned it into something that walks more on the darker side as themes go, and I love it.

The title might be slightly misleading. There are actually 400 Cthulhu fish to find—100 in each of the 4 levels. While the game doesn’t promote long playing time, it’s long enough to enjoy for half an hour with a nice cuppa on a rainy day.

Immerse Yourself in Unique Illustrations

I’m a massive art lover, and I’m an artist myself. The illustrations in 100 Hidden Cthulhu Fish are unique and really lean into the Lovecraftian narrative. Not only will you be finding fish, but you’ll also be marvelling at how much detail the illustrations contain.

Conclusion

100 Hidden Cthulhu Fish is a fun way to pass the time for half an hour or so. It’s not a long game, but it still packs a punch for what it is. The art is pretty awesome and that alone is a reason to play it, in my opinion. There are more than just fish you’ll be discovering. You can buy 100 Hidden Cthulhu Fish on Steam here

Final Verdict: I Like it a Lot. I like it a lot
