Amelia’s Garden is a sweet puzzle game from RedDeer Games. Additionally, fans of Tell Me Your Story will remember Amelia, who has matured quite a bit since her time with Grandma Rose. Still fuelled by her adventurous nature, she now finds herself on a deserted rooftop with pots to repair and seeds to plant.
Amelia’s Garden, A Cosy Gardening Adventure

In the midst of a busy cityscape, Amelia’s Garden offers a breath of fresh air. It invites you to transform an old rooftop into a lush, thriving garden. This puzzle game combines a relaxing atmosphere with engaging mechanics, making it a good title for those seeking a calm yet satisfying experience on the Nintendo Switch.

From the moment you step onto the forgotten rooftop, Amelia’s Garden draws you in with its sweet premise. Your task is a simple one: repair broken flower pots, plant seeds, and watch your garden bloom. First, you assemble the broken pot; then, you fill it with soil. After that, the seed packet appears, and you give it a good shake to cover the soil with seeds; a hose pipe is next on the screen for you to water the seeds. Finally, you press two corresponding buttons together, as shown on the screen, to bring the sun out to help the plant grow, but don’t press too hard or the pot will crack with the heat. Once the plant is fully grown, you can take its produce, which is either fruit or flowers.
Small Social Interactions

As your garden grows, so does your connection with the characters in the game. Amelia’s friends, each with their preferences for plants, add a little layer of social interaction. Sharing your harvest with Amelia’s friends earns you hearts, which motivates you to keep expanding your rooftop oasis. This aspect of the game adds a feel of community to the gameplay, making you feel like you’re not just growing plants but fostering relationships as well.

Amelia’s Garden has lots of little details. Each pot you fix requires solving a fun jigsaw-like puzzle, and it’s satisfying to piece the pots together and see the Garden gradually come to life.
The variety of plants adds to the game’s appeal. From bright tomatoes to fragrant basil, each pot holds the potential to grow something lovely and useful. You can also customise the rooftop garden by moving pots around and organising them by colour or however you want, so you can make the space your own. It’s a nice added touch to the game.
Hand Drawn Art Style

The hand-drawn art style is beautifully crafted, giving the city backdrop a warm, welcoming feel. The garden itself is small but vibrant, with a little fountain and cosy benches adding to the sense of tranquillity.

The soundtrack is equally soothing, though it can get repetitive. Relaxing music plays as you work, encouraging you to take your time.
The sound effects are good; you hear the clink of the pot as you piece it together and the water gushing out of the hosepipe as you water the pot. You can add a few effects to the rooftop garden by pressing on the leaf, star, and hearts icons at the bottom of the screen; they add small effects, such as falling leaves, to the scene.
Whether you’re playing with the Switch’s touchscreen or using a controller, the game runs smoothly and is easy to pick up and play, making it great for a quick play session during a coffee break.

Conclusion
Amelia’s Garden is a lovely escape into a world of quiet creativity and relaxation. Its combination of puzzle-solving, gardening, and small social elements makes for a gentle experience that’s easy to love. With its nice setting, art, and intuitive gameplay, this is the perfect game for anyone looking to slow down and enjoy a peaceful moment amidst the chaos of everyday life.
Final Verdict: Two Thumbs Up
