The Premise of Cozy Sudoku
Cozy Sudoku is precisely as it sounds – we play sudoku puzzles in a cozy digital environment with relaxing music and an adorable kitten watching on.
Gameplay
Cozy Sudoku‘s sudoku puzzle is a classic one. We have a 9×9 grid, where each horizontal and vertical row has to contain the numbers 1 to 9 without repetition. We have smaller 3×3 grids within the grid, which also need to include numbers 1 to 9 without repeating any of them.
Cozy Sudoku has several difficulty settings – easy, medium, hard, expert, and extreme. Choosing the difficulty is possible when starting a new game. On the right-hand side of the screen, we have several helpful buttons – Note, which allows us to note possible numbers; Erase, which checks if a number is correct; and an Undo button. I didn’t find much use for Erase since we can simply put another number in a box instead of deleting the previous choice and then putting the new one in.
The numbers are entered with the mouse by clicking on them right next to the grid. First, we select the empty box we want to fill in and then click on the number we want to enter.
If the number is incorrect, it will turn red when checked with the Check button. Otherwise, if it’s obviously wrong, the game highlights in red the other numbers in the mini-grid or the row that is repeating.
Some Other Things
On the left-hand side of the screen, we can see an adorable kitten that follows the mouse cursor with its eyes and can be petted. Below it, we have a mini music player—the game’s soundtrack is pleasant and simple. The tracks can be shuffled, and we can skip or return to a track.
On the upper side of the screen, we have audio and visual settings and some gameplay options that may make the game harder or easier. We also have several themes that change the background colors and the kitten.
Conclusion
Cozy Sudoku is a cute little game with many sudoku puzzles for fans. It is easily a game you can play while doing something else. All in all, it is relaxing yet challenging enough to make us exercise our little gray cells a bit.
