Wyrmspan is spreading its wings onto PC soon, as Monster Couch has announced that the popular tabletop-inspired game is heading to Steam.
In Wyrmspan, you step into the shoes of an amateur dracologist in a vibrant world filled with dragons of all shapes, sizes, and colours. Your goal? To excavate a hidden labyrinth on your land and turn it into a thriving sanctuary where these majestic creatures can settle.
Build Your Own Dragon Sanctuary
The game begins with three starting areas: the Crimson Cavern, the Golden Grotto, and the Amethyst Abyss. As you play, you’ll open up new spaces and expand deeper into your caves, making room for more dragons and unlocking stronger abilities.
You’ll be working with over 180 unique dragons, each with its own behaviours and traits. Some start small as hatchlings and grow over time, while others offer powerful effects right away. By combining their abilities, you can create satisfying chains and strategies as your sanctuary grows.
Strategic Gameplay with Multiple Ways to Play
Wyrmspan offers a variety of play options to suit your style. You can:
- Play solo against the Automa
- Take on AI opponents
- Enjoy local multiplayer with friends
- Compete online with players around the world
Each turn challenges you to adapt your strategy—whether you focus on expanding your caves, managing resources, or progressing on the Dragon Guild board.
Inspired By Wingspan, But Something New
If the name sounds familiar, that’s because Wyrmspan draws inspiration from Wingspan, the award-winning board game about birds. However, Monster Couch emphasises that Wyrmspan is a standalone experience with its own unique systems and theme.
